Great location great view
Bit awkward being older getting suit cases up and down stairs no lift
The Lakeside Hotel is perfectly situated alongside the river Shannon in the lovely twin villages of Ballina / Killaloe. The staff are wonderful and helpful; and, the hotel is welcoming and comfortable - truly a place to relax in.
Friendly staff, good food.
No stools at bar, if you were on your own, rather than occupying a table.
We stayed for 1 night for bed, breakfast and dinner in a lakeside room. The service, the cleanliness, the food, the hotel in general were all brilliant. We had no complaints, our room was spacious, the bed was comfy, the shower was great, and our room looked out over the lake, with a shared terrace. We were shown to our room directly, and all the staff were very good. Our dinner was great and good value, with a lovely view from the restaurant. The surroundings were picturesque and we were lucky enough to be there during almost 30 degree weather. Would highly recommend a stay here.
No complaints, the village doesn't have lots to do from what I seen but ideal for 1 or 2 nights.
Very well maintained garden
No lift
a ground floor would have suited us better,
My fault for not asking.
every staff person was pleasant and helpful. sean greeted us warmly for breakfast each morning.
So restful -
Liked everything
Where it was situated and the staff were lovely.
Room size. Very small but now expect it when booking a double room
Breakfast is by time blocks, which suited us all. The selection was fantastic. On our first morning at breakfast, we were asked if there were any allergies (yes to peanuts), so everything was explained to us. Our rooms were very spacious with plenty of room to move around and store our items. The leisure facilities were first class also, with plenty of staff to hand and lifeguards on duty all the time. The bathroom was big and well stocked, as were the Tea and Coffee items. All in all, we will defo go again.
Nothing negative to offer at all.
Value for money, rooms were huge, both walk in shower and bath , menu was good , and prices were good ,
Noting, and I work in hotel buisness
An unexpected room upgrade was just fantastic to sit on balcony beside the river watching life go by. The room was so comfortable and the chocolate gift appreciated !! For us the staff made this stay. They were all really friendly and happy to chat
Sean in the breakfast room had alot of information to share with us about the Maureen OHara and her pilot captain partner who landed an airplane boat on the river. We really enjoyed our stay and didnt want to leave.
Felt the bar food was a little disappointing. Herb and bacon crusted chicken was a letdown for the prices charged.
The staff were lovely and upgraded us to a beautiful room with a view. Breakfast was gorgeous. Couldn't fault this hotel
Nothing I didn't like. I would recommend this hotel
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was good. We enjoyed the pool. The views were amazing and we were very lucky with the weather!
Unfortunately it was a very very hot night and it was quite uncomfortable as we did not have air conditioning. The water slide was a huge bonus in the pool area but unfortunately the children using it were not being very careful in terms of making sure that they were using it one at a time. Some staff supervision at busy times would have been good.
The location is fantastic and it was great being able to sit on the terrace in the evening and have a drink. Being able to walk around the garden and down to the twin towns was also nice.
