The vicinity to Wilson airport the decoration
Friendly, clean, great location

Good food

Historical out of Africa feel. Old low wooden buildings with charm and character. Nice large pool. Good food and eating area along with bar and plenty of places to sit and relax. Friendly staff. Close to Wilson airport for internal flights.
The proximity of Wilson airport means that there are small aeroplanes taking off at regular intervals.

Great location inside Wilson airport.
Maybe more than one hairdryer required for the whole hotel
Outstanding location for those needing to change planes at the Wilson Airport. We had a late afternoon incoming flight from Amboseli and an early morning outgoing flight to Diani (which unfortunately got moved to JKIA at the last minute -- so much for the best-laid plans). The Club is only open to members and residents, but a staff member was extremely kind to allow us to spend a half-day there on the day when we were flying to Amboseli, even though we were staying overnight only on the return from the park. The restaurant had a good variety of choices of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
There is ample room for parking, which we did not need. The staff, from the gate guards, the reception, and the restaurant servers were all very friendly and eager to help. We really felt welcomed and appreciated. I cannot even imagine how nice it must be for the members, who have the opportunity to develop an even closer relationship with the staff.
Our room was in the Captain's Wing, spacious, updated, and, above all, quiet. The room overlooks the runway, but between the considerate flight schedule and the noise-reducing windows, we slept peacefully through the night.
Not sure if this was a problem in our room or the intended design, but our room did not have heating. The AC/heat pump unit worked well to cool, but we could not get it to warm up the room for the night. Since this is Kenya, it is possible that heating is not even considered a need, unless one is there on an unusually cold night, like we were. This was not an issue in the end, as the Club had provided a nice blanket, so we never even bothered to report the issue to the reception.
We would definitely stay there again.
