הזמנתי במיוחד בשל העובדה שהיתה לי יסה מאוחרת והיה מצוין במפורש שיש אפשרות לעזיבה מאוחרת. בפועל נאלצתי לעזוב את החדר ברבע לאחת כשרה וזה היה מאד מאכזב כי רציתי לעבוד עד הצהריים, וזה היה מאד מאכזב. בקבלה אמרו שזה בגלל שיש אורחים, אבל במועד ההזמנה לא התנו בשום דבר את העזיבה המאוחרת שהבטיחו

Kleines Hotel mit besonderem Charme.
Pros:

Der Aero Club East Africa ist meine absolut bevorzugte Unterkunft in Nairobi. Ein guter, sehr ruhiger Ausgangspunkt sowohl für geschäftliche Absichten in Nairobi (alles per Taxi) als auch für Abstecher zum stätischen Nationalpark oder für alle Fly-In-Safaris in die kenianischen Parks (durch die unmittelbare Nähe zum Wilson-Flughafen). Und damit ist der besondere Charakter des sehr kleinen Hotels angedeutet: Es ist eine Abenteurer- und Pilotenabsteige (<10-12 Zimmer) mit der besonderen Atmosphäre eines sehr traditionellen Fliegerklubs. Die Zimmer sind einfach, sauber und zweckmäßig, mit Moskitonetzen. Frühstück ist à la carte und sehr lecker, mit Saft aus frisch gepressten Orangen oder Mangos. Abends genießt man sehr schön das besondere historische Flair der Klubräumlichkeiten inklusive der tollen Bar. Man kommt leicht ins Gespräch mit Klubmitgliedern und dem überaus netten Staff. Tagsüber lockt ein kleiner Pool zum Abspannen. Durch die unmittelbare Nähe zum Flugfeld ist die Geräuschkulisse kontinuierlich startender und landender Mini- und Mediumjets zwingend. Für mich gehört sie dazu. Die Flieger sind aber durch Büsche und Bäume kaum zu sehen. Die Anlage ist gated, d.h. absolut sicher, auch tagsüber. Zimmer müsste man m.E. nicht mal abschließen.

Cons:

Keine Kritik, wenn man die Charakter und Lage des Hotels als liebenswerte Besonderheit schätzt.
