“Can’t the rest of the trip, we’re staying here”. Those were my husband’s exact words. Wow… this place exceeded any expectations. We booked it purely due to a tour of Althorpe House the next morning. For our family of 7 we had a double room and the family cottage. From the moment we arrived a lovely Scottish man welcomed us and showed us the rooms. He was very friendly and had a great sense of humour. Everything was easy!

We were blown away by the cottage, just gorgeous and very comfortable. The bar provided a delicious dinner and breakfast was included the next morning. All the staff we met were very friendly and attentive. The furnishings in the bar provided a great atmosphere. The back of the cottage provided a great open space for our young children to run around - which we all needed! My mother in law sat out there just to enjoy the nature and paddock behind. My husband was only disappointed the bar had closed the morning we left, because he wanted to tell the staff just how much we loved our stay. 100% recommend to anyone!

Hidden gem, we’ll be back.
Pros:

Fabulous place to stay, great atmosphere and very comfortable

Cons:

Breakfast lady was a bit frosty and as that was the last point of contact before we checked out was a bit dissapointing. Other staff fab.
