Pleasant a nd comfortable facilities..good breakfast. Helpful and cheerful owner. Grateful for fan in the room during hot nights.
Wi-fi kept losing signal. Extractor fan noisy for 15 minutes after using the shower room
We‘ve come back several times and just love this little gem – absolutely worth it, it‘s so lovely, the breakfast is very nice and the location is gorgeous. I can really recommend taking a stroll through the village. We had sunday roast as well, which was 10/10! Would come back again and again!
The food was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful
The room was a bit small
Lovely village location proper English pub
Stayed in the cottage and enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the pub - excellent food and beautiful garden.
Beds in the cottage could do with new mattresses - too soft in our opinion
Lovely pub/food/staff
Nice and quiet stay!
The manager and staff where lovely and all had a smile.
Nothing to complain about.
Actually booked this hotel thinking it was in east Haddon, great location very enjoyable food room to front of hotel first class
No complaints
Fabulous old pub with many places of historical interest close by Coton Manor Gardens Holdenby house and Gardens Cottesbrook House and Gardens and of course Althorp house and grounds
Nothing, the room was a little bit small but it reflects on the price we paid especially with breakfast
Food good overall
Salad £5 for a few leaves no dressing
Room was lovely and clean. Very comfy beds. Fan as it was hot which was great. Food at the Red lion is fresh and nicest place I've eaten in a long time.

Location was perfect. I took my son to Thomas land for his birthday at Drayton manor and we stayed here 1 night before travelling home.
Staff went out was to help when I arrived as I am
Single mum with my toddler. They even carried cot upstairs for me.
The breakfast in morning wasn’t a good as the dinner in evening. They only had white bread. No brown available and that wasn’t explained when I asked for brown bread. No kids menu for breakfast. Service at breakfast wasn’t a good at service in evening for dinner and welcome I got when I arrived.
A very warm welcome after a long drive to Northamptonshire for work. I parked (plenty of spaces), checked in with ease, then came downstairs to the lovely restaurant/bar area and enjoyed a superb meal. The staff are really attentive and friendly. My room was lovely - a very comfortable bed and nice touches including bottles of mineral water, lots of (organic) tea and coffee choices and great toiletries. Unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy breakfast as needed to get on the road for work. I look forward to staying again. Can highly recommend.
I cannot fault The Red Lion. Amazing value for money, a really lovely atmosphere and I felt perfectly happy staying alone for work and dining in the pub/restaurant. Situated in a beautiful rural village with no road noise.
The Red Lion is comfortable, clean and well equipped.
