Very noisy at night. Music was thumping until nearly 11pm. Shower ceiling paint all flaking off onto you whilst you are showering. Bed was on a slant. Wasn’t told about any choices at breakfast. cereal. Toast. Fruit juices. Etc. Wasn’t even told about what we could have. Got to pay xtra for cappuccino. Wasn’t told about loud music and quiz night until we booked in. Shan’t stay again which is a shame because with a little tlc . And more attentive staff. Could be a really nice place.
The facilities were lovely as were the hoists. Only issue was breakfast didnt start until 8am and with work committments had to leave by then. and no take out opton was available.

Nigel and his team are superb - professional, welcoming, efficient and friendly.
Rooms are lovely, cosy, and comfortable beds.
Food is excellent too.

Great place for us visiting friends locally. The small double en-suite room was ample big enough for us for one night. Comfy bed, modern bathroom with big shower. warm cosy room. Ample off road parking. Warm welcome. Breakfast included wad tasty. Shout out to Nigel. We will be back.

Everything was spot on from checking in to leaving. The staff where great not just a few all of them. The food was so good, we had dinner and breakfast top notch I would come back just for the food. Even down to the music in the background was a great play list that would be liked by all. The drink selection was also great. Great coffee, which I find in pubs a bit hit or miss but not this pub. The rooms were amazing value, comfortable bed, soft towels, power warm shower with nice toiletries including conditioner not cheap stuff. In the room you had water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. We will definitely be returning. Lots of parking available well kept grounds.
Needs a little decorating but is being done as I type this. Only thing I could find would be a small tv in room.
Good rooms, clean, easy to find, parking. We were met by a very cheerful gentleman who really was an asset; welcoming guests, taking orders, serving food, managing the bar and engaging with locals. The special curry was excellent, beautifully presented and the rice was perfect.
At breakfast the member of staff was quite distant and didn’t really engage with us much apart from handing out the menu but not explaining how it worked.

Restaurant food was excellent, good choice and well cooked. Good atmosphere in the bar/restaurant.
Breakfast also excellent and freshly cooked .

I regularly stay here, Nigel the manager is absolutely fabulous - David the chef his food is fabulous - highly recommend
Manager & bar man were excellent & did everything to ensure a great experience, no faults whatsoever & made us feel so welcomed back having stayed on several previous occasions.
A very small point, on the second morning a cappuccino with breakfast was requested, as the previous morning, on this occasion was asked to pay for it & was asked for payment when ordering, which I had to advise that I had come to breakfast with no means of payment, with the expectation to go back to my room to get the payment! Although I do not begrudge paying extra for the drink, the manner in which it was requested was uncomfortable.
I’m sure the member of staff was only following instructions.

I m a fan of Red Lion. My bed was a bit lumpy the
bed linen and duvet very lovely.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Was a lovely place to stay. Room was clean and tidy with plenty of towels and other toiletries available for use. Food from the restaurant downstairs was brilliant, tasty food and very good service.
Rooms could have done with a bit of an update on the furnishing. Bathroom could have done with a bit of TLC too as there was a small hole in the wall (looked like a bit of water damage) and a dripping shower after use.
