Didn't have breakfast
Tv was inop
The hotel was lovely and in a beautiful countryside location. The room was comfortable, spacious and had everything we could have needed. Although they could do with a mirror in the main room - I couldn't find a place near a plug socket to do my hair.
Breakfast was delicious and filled us up for the day!
Recently renovated, the room was small but big enough and comfortable. It has a coffee pod machine and a kettle for tea or hot chocolate (all provided). The bathroom was superb(with a separate shower and a huge bath). The pub meals were amazing! Such a quaint establishment,
The only thing we didn’t like was the road noise but that did quieten down later in the evening
The staff were very approachable and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection to suit most palates. Nice bathroom with plenty toiletries. Good tea/coffee selection, with biscuits.
Bedroom was cold. No heating, no working television, no seating other than on the bed (large room which could accommodate 2 chairs ). Bedroom door rattled, sash window handle hanging on one screw. No apparent soundproofing as the guests in next room could be easily heard. Bedside lamps very dusty. Had to request another quilt as the one on the bed was of such poor quality the filling had clumped in places leaving other parts no thicker than a sheet. Decor tired.
Very heavy mirror leans against a wall no fixtures.
Light from a ceiling at head height with exposed bare wiring
Bathroom just gorgeous but a freestanding toilet roll holder instead of screwing around to get to a shelf to get toilet roll
Lack of attention given to the snags.
The breakfast?
What could have been better is the lack of cooperation on your part, Booking.com, to change the dates of our visit because we needed repairs to our vehicle. We gave you plenty of notice to do this, at least ten days and with the agreement of The Tavern, but there was a delaying tactic on your part to prevent us. We note that you have now charged us the total amount due - for nothing - no response to our request - delaying tactics on your part, in order to get our money - for nothing - no opportunity to change the booking - no stay at The Tavern - little communication. So you want feedback. The way that we were treated primarily by Booking.com has been horrible. So yes, we are sure the breakfast would have been lovely had we been there. Anyway, good luck with your rip off business - what a joke.
Nice room, bathroom
No heating in the winter season
Nothing
The staff was extremely irresponsible. I paid the hotel charges in advance and informed the receptionist that I would be arriving late as I was traveling from London. Despite this, when I reached the hotel at 10:45 PM, no staff member was present. I repeatedly called the hotel, but no one answered my calls.
We had a very warm welcome, on arrival, at this lovely Country Inn. The location, not far off the M6, was just what we needed to break our journey, travelling from South West Germany to Perthshure in Scotland..
Can highly recommend!
Breakfast and dinner very good. Staff very pleasant.
Small room but adequate.

The location for us was good it was on the way to a walk we were doing the morning after.
On arrival the local power was out, so we had no electricity, hot water, the kitchen had closed and of course no internet. We had to go 20 minutes down the road in to the next village to get food and wait till morning to charge our devices and shower etc.
Afterwards the hotel after several weeks of ignoring any communication offered 10% on a future booking which I explained was very unlikely to be used given i am 3,5 hours away. They offered no compensation for our stay on the night for all the inconveniences we had, as I expressed the power cut wasn’t their fault but it certainly wasn’t ours and the room should not be charged at full price. Very poor handling after the stay given the staff on the night said we would be sorted out afterwards.
We’ve stayed here before and love the cosy atmosphere and friendly staff.

Friendly, warm and welcoming.
Breakfast was only served 9am -10am. Would have liked it earlier. It was delicious though!
