Pros:

A great location on a quiet palm fringed beach, with exceptional staff. The food is especially worthy of note. The quality of curries and Sri Lankan food were so much better than any of the other hotels we stayed in. Everything was freshly cooked and catered to your likes and dislikes. A fantastic property all round.

Excelente estadia
Pros:

Localização perfeita mesmo em cima de uma excelente praia. Piscinas várias! A nossa casa tinha uma piscina própria muito bonita.

Cons:

A piscina poderia estar mais limpa das folhas mas o tempo estava ventoso. Deveríam servir vinho a copo e não obrigatóriamente à garrafa.

Great stay at Taru Villas Mawella
Pros:

We had a lovely stay at Taru Villas Mawella, it's a lovely quiet property next to a wonderful beach. The staff were great, and a special call out to Lahiru who kindly helped us when we were having problems obtaining tickets for the cricket. Management appear to be investing in the hotel to ensure it maintains the quality you'd expect at this price point.

Cons:

Breakfast service was a little inconsistent and the food a bit hit and miss; order the Sri Lankan and it's wonderful, Eggs Benedict, not so much.

It would have been nice to have a chair in the room as per the photographs on Booking.com.

Pros:

Quiet and secluded location just a few steps away from a clean, fine-sand beach. We loved the property’s Colonial style and the amazingly attentive and gracious service provided by the staff. Our every need was met by the devoted staff always present to attend to any possible wish. Both the Western and the Sri Lankan breakfasts (must be booked the day before) were outstanding. Our fish based dinner was absolutely superb: the tuna was the most tender we’ve ever tasted. The grounds and the rooms are perfectly maintained and we enjoyed the shower’s plentiful hot water with good pressure. The various loose teas provided in the room were a nice touch.

Cons:

Most of the time the WiFi didn’t work.

Die Anlage des Hotels ist schön und der Mawella Beach ist hübsch und man kann hier gut im Meer schwimmen. Gutes Frühstück und freundliches Personal.

Cons:

Wir hatten ein Zimmer im „moderneren“ Teil des Hotels. Das Zimmer war leider schlecht: komplett durchgelegene Betten, eine nicht funktionstüchtige und stinkende Klimaanlage, dreckiger Boden und ein fleckiger Toilettensitz. Selbst wenn die Toilette oberflächlich sauber war (was ich bezweifle), hätte man den Sitz schon längst austauschen müssen. Außerdem lief Wasser aus der Toilette.

Una casa colonial a la orilla de una playa expectacular.
Pros:

el desayuno es bueno y la localozación es expectacular. Está retirado de restaurantes para salir a cenar pero un tuktuk te acerca por un módico precio. La oferta para cenar es limitada pero el alojamiemto está muy bien cuidado y te hace sentir como en una película de principios del siglo XX. Volveré cuando vuelva a Sri Lanka y lo aconcejaré. Espero que las lluvias del pasado fin de noviembre respeten vuestra forma de vida.
