great place on quitet side of sayulita
Pros:

I love the location- short walk to the beach, being in quieter side in north sayulita, and having a kitchenette. Breakfast was nice touch. There's a fruit store closeby which was nice. We extended our stay.

Cons:

Wifi weak and unstable.

We had a great stay, thank you!
Pros:

I loved the quiet location, it’s a small hotel like place with few guests that allows you to enjoy the common places without any distractions. Rooftop and the pools were great little places to hang out.

Cons:

It is quite dusty around since there are plenty of dirt roads. Some of the outdoor furniture could use more wiping and updating. And the cabinets in the rooms smell a little musty.

We Loved Mar y Suenos & Sayulita! Would stay here again, nice property, nice people & nice price!
Pros:

Check in was a breeze, even though we were slightly delayed due to road construction. Our studio room was clean, bright and well designed for two people. The location is on Northside and is perfect if you want to be close enough to walk to the action but far enough away to be quiet during the evening from 10pm-8am. Good shower pressure and plenty of hot water. On demand air conditioning worked perfectly and kept us at a comfortable level for late February.
They offer daily housekeeping if you wanted. We only asked for every other day housekeeping and it was no problem. Reception was always available during the day for us in case we needed to borrow towels for the beach or ask for housekeeping. A small amount of coffee was provided and a 4 cup coffeemaker, but we brought our own since sometimes it can be a challenge to find a local outlet for coffee and we didn't want to have to hunt around for it.
We had one minor leak in our bathroom but it was taken care of immediately with no inconvenience or bother for us, we simply reported to reception in the morning on our way out for the day and it was fixed by the time we returned in the early afternoon.

Cons:

The bed was a little hard, but understandable since the mattress is on a permanent concrete base. There is a steep uphill walk from the town or beach, which could be a little challenging after a few margaritas or if you have mobility issues. There is free onsite parking available and it is very very tight, so be sure to rent a small vehicle if you plan to utilize parking.

Very nice place to stay, good value.
Pros:

The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious. Maid service everyday was nice to have too. The balcony with a view was small/tight, but it did allow us to have our coffee out doors and enjoy the jungle-like atmosphere…including the crowing roosters. The beach was close. The free use of chairs and umbrella for beach was great. (Some chairs nicer than others) Town was a nice 10+ minute walk. Plenty of good restaurants like Carbon, Northside Cafe and a Very good Pizza place just a few blocks away. The 3 Pools were warm, but small. We didn’t order breakfast we always went out.

Cons:

One thing to be aware of is the street/hill you have to walk up every time you leave and come back to the property. My wife and I are in our late 60’s and it was a bit difficult. Plus there is no elevator on the property. We didn’t watch tv —but we did try it and reception/picture wasn’t great. We tried our Roku for Netflix and the wi-Fi kept buffering the signal so really unwatchable.

This hotel was far from what we expected!
Pros:

N/A

Cons:

Toilet kept ‘running’, small ants everywhere- I did not spray Raid on the kitchen surfaces. Cupboards smelled musty. Shower kept cutting out to cold water. Non of the staff spoke English except for the manager.

very relaxing week at a gorgeous spot in the jungle
Pros:

gorgeous view and balcony. Loved that we could see the ocean from our balcony. Lots of trees and nature, very close to the beach, quick walk to downtown and the nearby restaurants were delicious and often had live music. Quiet at night - outside of the party noise, so easy to fall asleep. We felt spoiled by the daily room cleaning. The kitchen was well stocked so we could cook ourselves breakfast each morning.

Wonderful a 10 min walk to center/beach
Pros:

The suite was nicely decorated, clean, and spacious. Staff were accommodating and friendly.

Cons:

The hot tub is not heated. The location is a 10 min walk from the beach, a bit up a hill. It can get boisterous but no later than 10pm.

Lovely Get Away
Pros:

I chose it for the out of town, though close enough location. Great for an easy feeling of "getting away from it all".

Our room was comfortable, well equip and spacious.

We had a dead car battery in the morning and S. the manager was kind and helpful, very supportive and accommodating.

Cons:

I was excited for a hot tub. We went around 8pm and it was cold with a sign that said, if you'd like to use the hot tub please notify the staff four hours before. I didn't know this. It was too late. I write this so others have another chance to receive this information. I missed it in the information on the hotel, online, if it is there, nor were we told this at checkin. That would have been great, if this had been made more clear. A hot tub a great luxury for me, and part of why I chose the place.

It is a lovely hotel. I recommend it!

Best decision I've made in a long time!
Pros:

As first time visitors to Sayulita, we did not really know a lot about the lay of the land. We could not have been happier with our choice. Mar Y Suenos was fantastic and exceeded our expectations in every way. Proximity to the beach was ideal. Loaner chairs, towels and umbrellas were greatly appreciated. The rooms were spotless. Distance from downtown was just right. Sabrina (the manager) was the best. Luna (the hotel cat) was a joy. Loved having the pool as an option for a quick cool down. The views and overall stay were top-notch. We would definitely like to return!

Cons:

The roosters were quite loud. While the hotel supplied earplugs, we found that using a portable speaker with a white noise app solved the problem of the early birds. It was still fun to encounter the chickens on the walk to the beach.

I ended up relocating to another hotel due to the noisy location.
Pros:

The staff is amazing. Very friendly, responsive, and the community events that are also open to the public are awesome. All the other guests I met were friendly and respectful of others when coming home from an evening out.

Cons:

For those who want to be right next to the scene, the location is perfect. With that, though, comes a lot of noise. During the day there was loud music playing across the street and you can hear the noise from the bars well into the early hours of the morning. I also would have liked more and varied common areas as well as options for more quiet and alone space to spend time that wasn't my bunk.
