The patio area outside our accommodations can be noisy during busy periods, this would be Friday and Saturday evenings, bank holiday weekends and holiday periods - particularly around Christmas. We do however try to clear this area completely within an hour of closing (12am)
Please note that we are a busy and well supported pub in the town center of Oundle. We have regular live music events, which can be checked via our social media pages. During busy periods our outdoor areas can get quite noisy as well. Please make sure you take this into consideration when booking with us.This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties.
Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian.
Location within the town.
TV remote control was missing so couldn't work the TV. No hairdryer. Room is accessed directly from the outside on the ground floor through a wooden door that looks as if it has been an old garage. The only room next to it is used as a store and looks abandoned with lots of dirt in the windows, cobwebs etc. The room was cold because of the draft coming through the door from the outside. The bedroom window is directly out onto a public vennel walkway so it feels quite exposed and not private. Check in is at the bar so fine when the bar is quiet. When I had a problem to report I couldn't get to the bar or staff to get help because it was so busy. Couldn't access the wardrobe as there was a bedside table in front of it.
I didn't have breakfast as the rest of the party were in another hotel and I joined them there.
There is one irritating design fault in the room I occupied. Once the bathroom door was opened, it swung open and collided loudly with the radiator. It was lucky that I spotted this soon after arriving, or the noise would have woken the neighbouring guest later in the evening. A round floor stop needs to be installed.
Location and staff
Little bit overpriced
Nice staff.
A comfortable room towards the rear of the building so well away from the hustle and bustle of the public areas. The staff were friendly and there were no issues during my stay.
Nothing to speak of.
Location was great, staff were friendly, cozy pub and dinner was great.
Room was tiny, no heat in the bathroom, car park was really hard to locate, curtains didn’t fit the windows and the bed was hard to navigate, no room on either side side as it was tucked into a nook.
I have stayed here a few times now, each time in a different room, and each room is as excellently cleaned and lovely as the other! The facilities are great. I will be staying here again! The staff are very friendly and it is just overall a great place to stay!!
The breakfast was very good, and there was plenty of choice
There was nothing to dislike at all
staff really friendly
a little noise from car park
Lovely setting and great staff
The direction to the car park .
Proximity of room to tables outside, was a bit noisy in the evening
