Bait & Switch with a dash of weirdness
Pros:

We were fairly disappointed overall, so let me get the good parts out first.
• The junior staff is quite helpful and eager to please. They tried their best. When we requested, they cleaned our room thoroughly and changed our sheets, more on this below.
• The room was spacious
• Bathroom was functional
• There was a decent view from our room

Cons:

Now the reasons why we decided to cut short our stay - originally planned for 4 nights - to just one, and move to a different hotel:

1. The entrance: Everyone be warned - the hotel is egregeously under construction. See my picture for how the main entrance looks. The pictures on their booking profile are the baits. When we arrived after a day long drive to what looked like a construction site - we were immediately cheesed off.
2. The room: It was NOT clean. The glass windows looked like they hadn't been wiped forever, there were cobwebs in the corners, the sheets were ironed, but dirty. When they changed our sheets on our request,the new sheets were dirty too, just a tad less so. The pictures are of the dirty corners that were left AFTER the staff cleaned the room and changed he sheets at our insistance. The carpets in the room were so dusty and dirty that we had to ask them to remove them entirely. After they swept the room, it was evident from the debris collected that the room had not been cleaned at all for a while. Also most of the furniture looks quite worn out and made of cheap material, with wood chipping at the edges.
3. A senior staff (probably the manager) said to us that if you don't find this satisfactory, you are free to go to another hotel, we dont want any negative reviews. What way to treat your guest on a cold and rainy evening after a long day's travel.
4. The bathroom: Shampoo and body wash dispensers were far from the shower, with the toilet in the middle. See picture for reference. You'd have to be the stretchy dude from fantastic 4 to be able reach the shampoo/bodywash while showering. Also, no shower curtain, so no way to shower without making the entire bathroom wet.
5. Communication: There was no reception number you could call from an intercom. You would have to call an individual staff's number from your own phone for anything you needed.

A nice stay with beautiful view and polite staffs.
Pros:

I had a nice stay at Lha-Yul Hotel in Gangtok.The night view of gangtok was splendid from the room .The hospitality was good and specially one of the staffs Dipankar Barman was very polite and helpful.I didn't find any problem while staying with my parents.We stayed at the triple room with mountain/city view.Would definitely stay here again in my next trip with friends. Would recommend if u are looking for spending some quality time in Gangtok.

Pros:

Very good hotel at Gangtok. Good location not very far from MG Marg. Rooms are very clean. Good hygienic maintained. They also got Beautiful hill view from the view room.
Recommend to stay here.

Overall okay.
Pros:

The property is nearby main mg road market. You just have to climb few flight of stairs and catch a cab to the market. The view from the room is also good.

Cons:

The first night we ordered food, it was really bad. Mineral water is chargeable, there were bottles filled with filtered water in the room. There were no tea or coffee bags in the room. For a triple bedroom the bed as well as the room were really small.
