Grie hunting quite room!

Cons: basically a hostel experience minus the hostel amenities. Many rooms with many occupants. Clearly managed by a man with debatable cleanliness standards. Stained bed sheets, peeling shower, generally not in good shape. Old building, all the doors were creaking and dragging and I could hear all the noises from the occupant upstairs.

I liked everything

The room doesn’t have windows or any kind of ventilation. The sheets smell like humidity and I’m sure that they didn’t change them. The bottom sheet on the bed was a mattress cover. The towels smelled awful and they were the size of a bath mat, luckily I had my own towel. There’s a room in the basement that is use for “laundry” but they only wash the sheets and they hang them to dry inside the room with the windows closed, so they smell awful. The cleaning overall was awful as well, the bathrooms were disgusting, signs everywhere. The microwave and the small electric oven was pathetic, the host claims that people cooked smelly food and that’s why the stove was unplugged. There was a fish tank with absolutely no maintenance at all, there was one dead fish at the bottom and it looked like the other 3 ate them. Do not book here, probably the good reviews are bots or paid publicity.

When I booked I asked to extend my stay, the host said it was possible. Before my arrival, they asked me to switch to a different property because the one I booked wasn’t available, so I agreed. I asked if I got a different property to stay, the extension was going to be the same price as the original, the host assure me that it was going to be the same.
The next day someone came into my room (there wasn’t any lock on the door, they were selling the house and they were doing a visit and the property manager said “it will only be a few minutes, let us see the room” I said no, it wasn’t my problem. I informed the host and he said the house was listed and the next day I had to take a walk to the park or the mall because they were going auto show the house again. After that he said I had to leave and go to the other property, because I couldn’t stay anymore on that property. The cleaning of that property was also pathetic, the bathroom that was only for me it looked like the toilet wasn’t cleaned in months. The shower upstairs was filled with mold everywhere and the tub had some weird things on the floor. On the kitchen the only thing available was the electric kettle (The kettle is full of limescale) and the microwave (dirty and burned up)
The mattress was rock solid.

The shower was a disaster. The floor starts peeing off and stuck to my feet. The bathroom was dirty. In two days no one came to clean it (trash was still full). The bed is comfy but the room is a bit wracked. Mine had holes in the wall that were covered by kids/disney stickers who you would buy at dollarama for letters or other paper stuff.
It's very far from downtown. 20min Uber or 40min bus ride.
