Picked due to cost and proximity to JFK and the hotel itself was good. Allowed a late check out too.
Pros:

Efficient check in and checkout. Clean room. Gave us a free late checkout which was very much appreciated.

Cons:

The general area was quite rundown so that would stop me from staying there again.

JFK Essence
Pros:

Close to airport and mass transit. I was stranded at JFK, was able to make reservation and price was reasonable.

Cons:

The shower faucet handle fell off, was not secured to the fixture. Towels left lint after using to dry off. There was a lot of debris on the patio .

OK for a stop over before flight from JFK but would try Holiday Inn next time
Pros:

Close to the air train for travel to JFK.
Big comfortable bed and great air con.
There was a reasonable bar close by.

Cons:

No social area/bar .....
Additional charge to store bags for a few hours
There was a small cigarette burn on the bed sheet
