We were walking the Offas Dyke from Hay on Wye and chose to end our day at the Royal Oak and on the trail. The pub was closed but we were made more than welcome with very comfortable and spacious rooms and a superb evening meal. The continental breakfast was excellent.
Nothing! All was good.
Lovely room with space to sit and chat, which was great. the breakfast was wonderful and Sarah was super helpful and welcoming.
It would be nice to have a mirror in the room, instead of just in the bathroom, and hooks for towels in the bathroom would also help.
Clean, well presented, very comfortable beds and lovely staff
Could hear other guests - walls were thin but it was fine and didn’t really matter
Lovely room, comfortable bed and a very cosy inn. Most of all the host Sarah for her friendly reception, with cakes and who cooked us a meal and let us play darts in the pub even when it was closed on Mondays.
Nothing we had a great stay.
Very good breakfast, all freshly prepared for us.
Excellent service, beautifully decorated
We were made very welcome by staff and owners there.
Food was excellent.
Great value for money.
Lovely comfortable well designed accommodation🤩
The owners were very nice and the bed comfortable.
The description was misleading, not a 5 star hotel but an ordinary pub. Food uninspiring. Lots of details overlooked. Tea etc but no milk, the last guest's leftover biscuits, tiny tv where the remote sort of worked. Tea and milk not renewed the next day.
The pub is full of character with great food and drink and particularly welcoming staff. We felt very much at home. The surrounding area is very beautiful.
We were 3 in a room which really was big enough for only 2, however it was good value for money and we managed fine.
We paid extra for a cooked breakfast which was very good and had the continental breakfast the second morning this was good also.
It was an absolutely lovely pub/b&b with character, cleanliness, and charm. The rooms were fabulous and we had an amazing stay.
Very friendly staff

Good atmosphere at the pub
Room , bed and bathroom very nice and perfect clean.
Tasty fresh breakfast.
Great pastoral environment .
Maybe for very tall people the upstairs room a little less comfortable because of the diagonally ceiling under the rooftop. They may require the downstairs room
sarah is an excellent host, beautiful home cooked food and a fabulous old pub full of charm perfect stop for walking the offas dyke path
