Another great stay with my sisters and best friends !
Pros:

This is my 4th visit to Low Wood and the staff always provide exceptional service . Breakfast is always great and the staff throughout the restaurant are so accommodating and go above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible . Highly recommend Low Wood hence why I keep returning !

Generally good but on arrival poor first impression
Pros:

1. View was beautiful
2. W restaurant was nicely decorated and food good, in my opinion much better than the other restaurant, both in surroundings, service and quality of food
W restaurant, - full English was excellent, much better than continental which had little choice.
3. Inside lounge areas nice, comfortable

Cons:

All parking full on arrival so had to use overspill car park, no parking staff so had to ring for direction to reception. It was quite a distance with heavy luggage. After booking in again left to carry luggage with unclear direction to room (especially a lift with 2 doors and no indication which to take)
Room only adequate, the best aspect being a balcony and view. Cold at evening, decoration only average, only one chair

Amazing food, location and spa facilities slightly let down by the room. Not worth £400 per night for an old, creaky roo

Amazing Spa facilities - the best I have been to.
The food was fantastic at breakfast and afternoon tea.
Great location and scenery.

Cons:

The Hazel rooms felt very dated. The floor in the corridors and rooms was creaking. The cleaning staff left equipment and bedding out on the corridors making it difficult to get past.
Our door wouldn’t lock from the inside and at one point a cleaner entered the room with her key without knocking.
Our TV channels were constantly scrambled due to poor satellite connection, making it unwatchable.

Fantastic would come again!
Pros:

The facilities were exceptional it was very clean and had great views.

Cons:

The reception was close to room and was located slightly close and did not feel private as much as I could’ve. The walls were thin and it could get noisy. Parking fee was slightly too high and we were not entirely sure that we needed to reserve the restaurants before hand leaving us with a 9pm only booking.

Pros:

We stay at Low Wood regularly, and have done for over a decade. Since its renovation and extension, we stay in Winander where possible. Staff are excellent, remembering little things so that it feels like coming and seeing friends each time we come back. Breakfast in Winander is brilliant and varied, and if you don’t fancy something on the menu, you can ask them to tweak dishes and they’ll accommodate where they can. Staff in the main hotel are just as attentive. Fab cocktails in the main lounge bar!

Pros:

The room with a excellent view of Windermere

Cons:

Bar staff didnt know how to make cocktails properly, they came out absolutely awful.
The fact that you can only use pool between 7-10am and 5.30-8pm is horrendous, so when you can use it it is packed.
Steam room wasnt working.
When went to pool there was dirty towels still left lying about and dirty glasses

Exceptionally stunning
Pros:

Stunning views over the lake

Cons:

Couldn’t get in the hotel for evening food unfortunately as it was fully booked (which shows how gorgeous it must be) so had to travel out into Ambleside to eat - we still had an amazing evening with gorgeous food but would have preferred to eat on site with the view of the lake - hopefully we manage to get in next time

Magical views of the lake from the warm lap of luxury.
Pros:

Had a lake view from our room. The room had lovely high ceilings and a large refurbished bathroom.

Cons:

We didn't manage to get into Blue Smoke as it was fully booked. Our initial room was at the end of a long corridor going three quarters of the way around a courtyard! Fortunately the staff changed our room when we asked!

Nice place overall, would stay again
Pros:

Breakfast and location were great, staff were nice. Beautiful views from hotel and grounds.

Cons:

Minimal plugs in the room, hairdryer broken whilst using and shocked my arm.
Thermal journey added to our bill without us booking it.
Advised on check in parking was complimentary however, had to pay £36 for parking on check out.

Pros:

The area was fantastic

Cons:

A large wedding party was in and the carpets had not been vacuumed and the toilets not checked which was disappointing. Lovely hotel but the traffic on the main road kept you awake
