The rooms, very old looking, bathroom facilities archaic, hand held shower, leaking water in bathrooms, one night no water at all for our team to bath, on other days my room only hot water coining out of the bathroom sink, minimal facilities, no coffee or tea making facilities in the rooms, no dinner service on sight. No photos to share. Should have thought of taking some to show the state of the rooms

Quiet and serene
Pros:

Great hotel to stay in a spacious room with working air conditioning it was an extremely quiet stay which was good. Staff are nice when you are in contact. The property does have a walkway down to the beach although not that pleasant of a beach it's still a nice walk the the steps are quite slippery...

De mooie tuin en het vriendelijke personeel

Cons:

Niets viel tegen, maar de badkamer was redelijk oud en er was geen restaurant ter plaatse. Via het hotel kon je wel eten laten bezorgen. Ik vond dat helemaal prima en het was goed geregeld. Ik heb prima gegeten, dus ik heb mij er niet aan gestoord.

הנוף מדהים והגישה לים מקסימה
ממוקם 10 דקות מנמל התעופה והיה לנו נוח לשהות לילה לפני הטיסה.
החדרים מרווחים והמרפסת למעלה נהדרת

Magnifique maison
Pros:

Le manoir est un très beau bâtiment perdu dans la végétation avec une vue au loin sur la mer. Proximité de l'aéroport, service de pick up fiable (avec supplément)

Cons:

Il n'y a pas de restauration et service de café limité. L'établissement applique toujours les suppléments pour paiement avec carte de crédit malgré l'interdiction de la Bank of Tanzania du 23/12/2024.

The on-site staff were polite and tried to assist where they could within their limitations. The property is also reasonably close to Stone Town and the airport

Cons:

Unfortunately, the property was not a good fit for our family and did not meet expectations. When booking, we assumed a comfortable, family-friendly stay with usable beach access. While we acknowledge we overlooked that there is no swimming pool, the reality on arrival was very different from what we had anticipated.

The room layout was not suitable for a family, with everything in one space rather than separate sleeping areas. More significantly, the beach access is not just difficult — it is not usable as a beach. Access is via steep broken steps, and the shoreline is a mangrove area filled with trash and debris, making it unusable for relaxing or spending time with children.

We also found the management approach very disappointing. When we reached out to request a possible amendment to our booking, the manager declined without any willingness to engage and would not speak with us directly, only communicating through staff.

As a result, we had no option but to stay and spend additional money each day traveling elsewhere to access a pool or a usable beach, which added significant cost and inconvenience to our trip.
