Come for the great service, location, and the milk and cookies!
Pros:

House of Gods was a lovely short stay for us in Edinburgh. The service of staff was fantastic, and they were very prompt in responding to our queries (a.k.a cocktail orders).
While the rooms are small, this didn't bother us at all - and we were very well rested!
The milk and cookies was a highlight for sure, and the breakfast hamper was great to get us started and on our way for the day.
If you know what you're signing up to (small rooms, wetroom for a bathroom, WhatsApp) - its a wonderful stay in central Old Town.

Cons:

We've stayed in price equivalent hotels across the world (not a brag, just gives us a place to compare from), and House of Gods - while modern in its staff & service - could feel somewhat dated in some areas.
While the staff service was great, the use of WhatsApp undercut the 'upmarketness' (though I understand why, given the no signal) - particularly when some staff used super casual language; as did the other utilities in the room (hairdryer was no different than a 3* hotel [QT uses Dyson], TV was old and didn't have streaming services [as far as we could tell without a functioning remote], remote didn't really work even with new batteries, one light didn't work, no robe/slippers, one-use toiletries in packets/pouches which were hard to open when in the shower).
Small things, but if upgraded, would have really left an impression.

Also, we were *repeatedly* offered an upgrade for a room which - when I looked online - would have only cost us maybe 10 pounds more (if I had booked then and there). I raised this, but they weren't flexible on the price (on the 3+ times they asked us if we wanted to upgrade) - which felt like we were just another credit card to run; so we declined.

Verhouding prijs kwaliteit te duur
Te weinig licht en te weinig lucht.

Amazing atmosphere with very attentive staff!
Pros:

A unique place to stay! We were staying for daughter’s birthday so they gave us a room upgrade and the extra package was just perfect! A great place to celebrate a birthday or other celebration! The staff were all amazing- attentive, enthusiastic and hardworking! Particular thanks to Joe.

Cons:

Small rooms but we were expecting that!

Luxury for a Great Price!
Pros:

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, staff were friendly and helpful and I loved the use of whatsapp to communicate with staff, and when we had an issue with our TV remote it was replaced within 5 minutes or less! We upgraded to the 'celebrate good times' package and it was worth every penny, the room service cocktails were all brilliant and I would definitely recommend any of the packages for people celebrating or looking for a luxurious experience for a reasonable price! Every detail down to the in-room espresso (which was very high quality) and under-floor heating for the marble bathroom made the experience feel like we were living in luxury! We will absolutely be staying there again, and even trying their hotels in other destinations too!

Cons:

The room was a little cramped and the hallways were a bit dimly lit which made getting lost easy - but neither were big issues at all and we still had a wonderful time!

Staff member that showed the room ruined the whole experience.
Pros:

Great venue, perfect location, reception area amazing.
Breakfast hamper was good.

Cons:

The team seemed amazing in the texts leading up to check in, asking how to make the stay memorable, few things were agreed and then ruined on arrival when being shown to the room.

Packages based mainly around alcohol which is disappointing.

Booked the suite so we could make use of the bath however this leaked all over the floor when filling.

Room not cleaned very well at all, under the bed was disgusting and had 'wrappers' left behind from previous guests including a sock over the smoke alarm in the room.

Mini bar in room very expensive and then was charged for items days after we had checked out that were never in the mini bar to start with.

Room was tiny and shower water was moderately warm at best.

Property claim the rooms to be soundproof but you can hear everything going on outside from the bed.

Extremely disappointing
Pros:

Staff where friendly

Cons:

I couldn’t recommend this hotel any less.
The room was extremely dusty, there was rips in the pillows, random rips and holes throughout the room and bathroom, the glasses that we where giving for our room where also dirty, it was very noisy and also a lot of random scratches on the ceiling.
I’ve stayed in cheaper hotels that are way better value and just looked much better if I’m honest, it looks nothing like the photos.
Stay away from this hotel.
