The hotel was in an excellent position to explore the town centre and cross the river to walk in the park.
Location
Room is much bigger than expected
Location.
Our room was noisy due to corridor creaking loudly as anyone walked by and the bedspread was on the outer wall.
location, room
reception not very organised, restaurant staff pleasant but not observant enough - had to chase things, food average, rooms/decor could do with decorating.
Excellent location.
Large well equipped bathroom
The restaurant had a lingering unpleasant smell. Many areas need some smartening up. Oddly laid out and small bar area
Excellent staff & location
Very good quality hotel directly opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
Very well situated near the theatre,
Very good dinner
Location was great for the RSC Theatre; room was well appointed and had all the facilities we expected; staff at breakfast and in reception were friendly and welcoming
Courtyard was off limits at peak times; staff in the evening were polite but not customer oriented.
Great place
Everything! Gorgeous building. Very friendly staff. Location couldn’t be better. Breakfast was lovely too. Staff went the extra mile for a special birthday.
Absolutely nothing.
Location and gardens and a great breakfast.
Really friendly and welcoming staff, who were brilliantly helpful when we encountered an issue (nothing to do with the hotel). Room, restaurant and location excellent.
Nothing, all good.
My room was very comfortable and the coffee/tea tray generously included biscuits and snacks, as well as a good range of tea and coffee/decaf. The towels in my bathroom were new and the toiletries pleasant to use. The location for the theatre is unbeatable and being able to park at the hotel makes a huge difference.
The person who checked me in had clearly just returned from a smoking break and reeked of cigarettes. Service at breakfast was very slow. But the coffee was good!
The hotel was opposite the RSC theatre which was good as we were going to the theatre. The brasserie did a good pre-theatre dinner. The food was good and was very good value.
The breakfast was much better than last time we stayed.Good quality and choice.
We reserved our room several months in advance and requested a room near the reception. We were given a room on the top floor at the top of a steep spiral staircase.Very disappointing.
