Lots of choice for breakfast e.g berries, yoghurt, pastries, crumpets, pancakes & many cooked choices. Staff very nice, helpful & friendly.
We've stayed twice before but this time standards had slipped. The food wasn't so good & we had the impression it was served without care. E.g. overmicrowaved evening meal & toast burnt for full English breakfast. Carpets not swept-same dropped items in dining room there both mornings. Disappointed as we'd enjoyed twice the year before.
We had a good breakfast and was nice to be able to eat it outside as the weather was lovely. We were very grateful that a fan was in the room as it was a very hot day
We booked to have an evening meal there was a very long wait for food but staff did inform us when ordering our food. They were very short staffed and the two ladies and the chef worked very hard!
The room was basic but ok and clean. We were told by one of the members of staff that they were understaffed as there was nobody to check us in. Theo was a gentleman from Cyprus who was working there and was fantastic! He was helping everywhere he could and looked after us at diner and for towels for our room. He was outstanding!
The food was absolutely delicious. We had the pesto and bread and halloumi and both were lovely.
We would definately stay here again.
Our room was right opposite the main road so didn't sleep very well but it didn't put us off to be honest. We would ask for a different room if we stayed again.
A bit expensive too.
We were flying from Bournemouth Airport the next day & this Hotel was close by.
N/A
Clean & comfortable room & facilities. Reasonable set menu for half board. Good outlook from room onto country park. Large car park.
Lack of staff and chefs. Only two girls operating check in & bar and waiting on tables on a Friday night. Only one chef who was training a new one. Long wait for food. 3 starters on half board menu, only one of which was available. Should have been a selection of breakfast items in morning cooked to order, but it was help yourself to cooked items or continental. Outside area to room could do with a tidy up, grass cutting, outdoor furniture needed cleaning. Dog poo bag left outside patio doors. Invasion of ants in room due to hot weather!
Location
Very tired property, needs an urgent refurb. Bedrooms dated but clean and acceptable, many fixtures worn out though. No air con just portable fans which were not large enough to cope. Not a 3 star property, at best 2 star. Total lack of staff unable to cope, leaving dirty dishes and glasses in bar and rrstaurant let alone serve, meals took 1.5 hours between courses with same TWO staff trying to operate whole hotel and bar/restaurant. Did their best and felt sorry for them. Having stayed here previously over the years very dissapointed, we will not be doing in future
Not a lot. Convenient location for us.
Bathroom facilities not up to quality expected...No loo brush!!!!!, no air conditioning, checking in no one on reception, had to wait. Everywhere had "Wet Paint" signs. Price was far too expensive. Have stayed in far better for less.
Close to airport rooms newly decorated but duvet very marked
The staff were miserable , we booked a table for 7pm on check in and then told at 7 pm there would be a 90 minute wait due to too many walk ins and only one chef on , receptionist behind bar , one server and one chefs for approximately 70 customers eating and drinking , dirty plates left on tables for ages .
Outside our room a stack of old furniture piled up outside
Parking and location.
Car noise was constant. But we would still come back when it was not so hot so we could close the windows.
The location suited us
First night, no sausages available for one the meal options, then none available for the breakfast although were given alternative extras to replace them. Second evening, we came back from a family funeral, relatives came to join us although they weren’t staying at the hotel so we could have dinner together. We were told that we’d need to order within an hour and that there would be a wait but we didn’t mind. Within ten minutes we went to order but were told actually we’re closing the kitchen and not taking more orders and this was at 7.15! The reason given was due to the heat and too many orders as a result of other local restaurants closing in the heat. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because of the restaurant on site. We quickly got into a car and went into Ringwood worried we wouldn’t be able to find anywhere open, but everywhere was open and ended up having a fabulous meal at the fish inn.
Our second morning was a disaster also. We ordered our breakfast, we weren’t told about no sausages again (how can you not have any sausages for three days?) and only knew about it when our breakfast finally arrived! No extra anything on our plate in place of missing ingredient, plus we waited 35 minutes for it to be brought out to us!
It was actually really poor from a hotel prospective.
Clean room. Fair for the price.
Shower curtains, below par breakfast and on a busy road.
Room was comfortable, breakfast was good value. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location was ideal for our purpose.
Air conditioning would have been a bonus given the exceptionally hot weather - but we did have a fan in the room.
Room was ok, evening meal was ok.
Grumpy staff, breakfast floating in fat in dishes.
