Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück war exzellent.

Cons:

Es war im Zimmer zu warm. Es fehlte an Kühlung bei heißer Sommertemperatur. Der Deckenventilator konnte leider nicht abhelfen.

Pros:

The location is pretty good - a short and easy tram ride from Basel main train station, then a 6 min walk. The hotel itself is in a nice park with tables and chairs outside and tree coverage. There are some stores nearby, including Coop. Staff were professional and business-like. Cleaning staff very happy to provide extra bottles of sparkling water. There is a lovely reading room with free Nespresso capsules and a machine. The room itself is beautiful, with lots of natural light coming in. The building is quite unusual, since it was apparently a christian missionary training centre of some sort, so it does not feel like a typical hotel.

Cons:

The room is pretty small for 4 people. Breakfast is very expensive and is basic, with a couple of juices, milk, cereal, a coffee machine. We did it once, and I was glad we hadn't opted to pay for breakfast every morning. For kids, it definitely isn't worth it. On subsequent days we walked 5 mins to Coop and fed our group of 4 for the price of 1 breakfast at the hotel. There is no sort of laundry service, nor are there any launderettes nearby.

Le beau jardin, la grande chambre

Cons:

Les moustiques! Comme il n’y a pas de climatisation il faut ouvrir les fenêtres la nuit et il y a des moustiques. Il faut utiliser un ventilateur pour essayer de les éloigner.
