The accomodation is just wonderful , the rooms are decorated simply with wonderful original artworks everywhere throughout the property. The hotel staff are welcoming and professional.The breakfast is very generous and many tastes are catered for !
The hotel is located right at the port and easy walk from the ferry and easy walk to the black sand beach
The trek is worth the view at the top BUT … need to know facts …The volcano trek is very hard in the heat even though you don’t leave the town centre until 6pm … with the hike up 2.5 hrs … one hour at the viewpoint for sunset and hopefully some volcanic action … the walk coming down is in the dark with head torches … got back to hotel at 1130pm, you do need to be fit and prepared for a fast pace both ways.
You need to take 1.5 litres of water at least and take a dinner sandwich with you also .
Excellent location. 5min walk from the ferry, close to everything, and the included trekking was amazing. Got the packed lunch option for the hike too, and that ended up sufficient for two days. Staff is lovely and they make a great coffee.
The trekking rooms are part of the hotel. Ours was on the ground floor/souterrain and had its own patio and gate.
There was communication hiccup prior to arrival, but that could be sorted out.
Hotel was nice, comfortable but basic room, and in a great location for the ferry and amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Trip up Stromboli at sunset was really good, and the guides on the actual walking tour were very good. Read below in "What you didn't like"...
Information provided in the booking was vague and confusing, and the map led us to a place that doesn't exist!!! We walked around for quite a long time in the heat! Regarding the sunset Stromboli tour, the actual tour and guides was very good. However, the office up the hill where you go to register your presence for the tour was a horrible experience. The woman in the office was vile, rude, aggressive and extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. When we told her that we booked through Booking.com including our hotel, she screwed up our receipt in front of us, saying that our booking doesn't exist and we had to pay [again] because Booking.com don't employ her!!! She dealt with other customers and then came back to us. We explained our booking again, and then she found the screwed up receipt, smoothed out the creases, and gave it to us, telling us that we were booked for the tour!!! No apology, no explanation, just more abrupt and rude aggression. She was so awful, and others in the office could see how badly she was treating us. She is clearly not suited to a job that deals with the public, and is misrepresenting the company she works for.
Clean and fantastic location and included the vulcano tour and breakfast was fantastic.
