Room stank of cannabis and stuff wasn’t good about it, from people who suffered from smoking it was bad.

Pros:

Could be a nice hotel but it isn’t. Loose floor tiles in both the bathroom and bedroom . The bar was allegedly closed by 9.30- felt like the member of staff couldn’t be bothered to pour two glasses of wine. Pillows and duvet were such poor quality. No hair dryer. No info re facilities. Breakfast was very poor- awful weak coffee, no selection. Would NOT stay again

Perfect city centre location in this impressive historic hotel
Pros:

The property offers a perfect city centre location with impressive features that have been retained well in this historic building. The staff are incredibly friendly making you feel part of the hotel family. It was good to find a good coffee machine back in the room.

Booking 6th March - Overall welcome at the Hotel was lack lustre and didn't really seem like they wanted the business.
Room first glance looks clean but plenty of dust around as well as ingrained in carpet etc.
NO slip mat in shower and despite being very careful showering I nearly had a severe accident.

It was also perturbing to get up in the morning and go into the bathroom and notice a strong smell of weed that I am guessing came through vents from another bathroom which would be concerning that fire alarms are not working.

The lift -- it goes up but not down? This was not disclosed on arrival - and in the morning all room cards just left on the desk - the front doors just open so anyone could walk in and grab a key card...

This used to be a premium hotel / venue with a great little bar .. now it seems it's been taken over by a company that knows cheap.... and those red LED lights in the bar... tacky.

Cons:

breakfast was ok, although not sure the sausage had seen the grill

my room had adjoining door to next room, which was thin and provided the sound track to the occupants carnal activities at 12, 1 and 3am
