The Hi-Lo is located right downtown and near several food trucks, making it easy to grab a late-night bite. It's also conveniently located near the waterfront. The hotel was quieter than expected, and my goodness, I was impressed with how lovely the suite was. The shower was glorious - lots of water pressure and lovely soap. The beds were also very comfortable. The rooms also receive a lot of light. All around, very lovely.
Drew, the gentleman who greeted me upon check-in, was very friendly and courteous—a true hospitalian.
An in-room fridge to keep some drinks cold would have been nice. Parking is available off-site, but it is close by and reasonably priced.

It’s a great historic building. It’s not a big hotel so it felt intimate. The lobby is really welcoming and is a great place to hang out, as well as check in/out. There’s a long table with chess, checkers and tic tac toe boards, comfy couches, even a piano to play as well as some items that invite guest interaction, and everything is chic and stylish but also inviting.
Only a few blocks from Powell’s Books and Voodoo Donuts; and a super popular food truck area is only a block away.
Staff is super friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is situated in a less-than-ideal location. The hallway has a musty smell, which is likely caused by the carpet. The air conditioning unit in the room is a bit loud. The bathroom lacks sufficient hooks for hanging towels. A mini-fridge is not provided in the room for storing water. Also, the ice maker on the 5th floor was out of order, so we had to go to the next floor, where the small ice machine had very little ice available. Valet parking at the hotel costs sixty-two dollars per day.
It was beautiful! The staff was amazing and the room was absolutely gorgeous. Also, you get 2 free bottles of water when you check in and check out is at 12pm. Very convenient.
The area around it *looks* a bit sketchy as it was my first time there and I was solo but everything turned out nice :)
