Nothing at all!
The pictures are totally false. The lodge and property might have looked this way years ago. The place was falling apart. We pulled up and there was a wrecked car sitting there. There was water gushing over the drive when we pulled in. We were met by a dog that would not let us to the door which was open to the outside. He was growling at us. A lady came out and asked if we needed a reservation. She said she just was asked to come over that day so didn't know what to do. We told her we had a reservation and the room so she took us there. On the way she pointed out that the shared men's restroom was out of order. In the room she hurried up and picked up what looked like possible dirty towels and said sorry. No other towels were there. There were no other guests there. We did not stay because we felt totally unsafe. We messaged the property owner but he would not respond to us. We had to go find another place to stay and now are out this money. We should be refunded since this was false advertising and was not at all what we paid for.
Awesome off-grid location
Nada, para ser sinceros.
Fue una experiencia horrorosa. No reserven aquí.
Rien.
A fuir !!
Location is stunning. The meadow and mountains are breathtaking.
Zero effort into hospitality and upkeep of this property. It's a shame because it could be a real gem, but it has fallen into disrepair due to neglect. The electricity is off for most of the day, shower is cold, facilities are dirty, there is a constant smell of sewage, there is nobody to help onsite. We expected rustic, but this was particularly terrible. We couldn't leave fast enough.
Upon arrival the staff was friendly and showed us around. The setting is very pretty.
I am an avid traveler and was looking for a good place to sleep while enjoying a trip to explore the National parks - did not need to be fancy. However, there are some vital details missing from this listing. The first is that the lodge is equivalent to a hostel. I stayed in room 5N and there are a series of 2 inch holes drilled into the floor for some reason that lead to the kitchen area. As a result, I could hear (and smell) everything from the kitchen, which is of course a shared area. Finally, there is some sort of cistern inside the lodge that is connected to the sewer. The first night there was a terrible smell throughout the building, which we couldn't place and staff said they didn't notice - which is impossible. But we arrived late and just wanted to sleep. The next day, we expressed concern again and noticed the indoor well area and the smell was very strong coming from it. I spoke to several people and no one directly spoke to my concern. However, when we arrived back a pump was going and I think they were clearing out the water. Anyway, we decided not to stay at another place for the rest of our trip. It was really concerning to us that the staff wouldn't answer our questions about the smell or the well inside the lodge. I think it's important to note here for others looking to stay.
Nothing
This was an extremely disappointing stay. The bedroom lighting was not working, there was no hot water, and there were no staff available to help resolve any of these issues.
The toilets on the first floor were dirty and poorly maintained, and the mosquito screen on the bedroom window was damaged and ineffective, allowing insects into the room.
To make matters worse, the hotel is located in a very remote area that requires driving approximately 13 km on a rough gravel road. While traveling to the hotel, I got a flat tire and had to spend a couple of hours dealing with the repair. There was no internet connection in this area. After driving on the gravel road, my car was completely covered in dirt, and I had to make an extra stop at a car wash.
I would not recommend staying here. I was confused that Booking proposed such "hotels".
We ended up renting the Dream Cabin. The cabin was beautiful and comfy, and we loved its solitude. The staff, especially Tim, were exceptional!
OH... here is the list. First... it took us almost 90 minutes to find the resort. Consider putting up a sign or two. We originally booked in the lodge. When we arrived and walked into the lodge it stunk- like the smell was horrendous and unbearable. My hair smelled for 2 days! Also, if you are allergic to cats, like I am, they have a cat in there, and it doesn't look like they have cleaned for some time. Everything was dingy. Tim was super great, and we agreed to stay and rent the "Dream" cabin (for an additional fee- but that was ok with us). The Dream Cabin is super cute.. however, they don't tell you on the website that all of the electric/power is turned off at 10:30 each night. And then, in the morning, I woke up and text Tim about turning the electric back on (as we couldn't charge our phones, take a shower, nothing...) and he finally turned it on at 10:45am- much, much later getting out and doing things than we wanted/planned- but without charged phones, we had no GPS. If you want rustic, this is the place- but, I think no electricity should be advertised on the website!
The location is sublime. Tucked away in a valley, the view from the room is a stunning meadow. That's worth staying for. Facilities were simple but lovely. The only drawback was the flood damaged logging road getting to the place. It's not for the faint of heart - we drove slowly and got there with no damage to the car, but you cannot be in a hurry.
The logging road into the place was significantly damaged due to the rain. We were in a Nissan Rogue SUV and made it, but it requires nerve and patience to navigate the 12 km to the site.
The staff were nice and we had a good rest. Overall I was happy and the view from the deck was superb.
Quite a bumpy road to get to property of which I wasn’t aware and in a vehicle that was suited for this drive! A little quirky (no towels, window didn’t shut, power wasn’t on initially).
