Location, IF you want to be in the nature and favor peaceful environment & hiking over people and animation (which is scary we were looking for)
Kindness of the owner
Very big room
Well located for view and hiking (also for visiting Amba Estate)
Shower was not working very well, but we mentioned it to the owner who asked us what should be improved
All fresh & local fruits & vegetables...but industrial jam for breakfast, while home made jam is made at Amba estate.
Really enjoyed my stay at Rock N Fall, thanks to Tharusha and the rest of the team!

We stayed at Rock n Fall for just one night. The hospitality we received was excellent! The staff were very attentive and kind, and made us feel looked after. We had a delicious breakfast before we checked out, and it was prepared for when we liked. The surroundings of this hotel are breathtaking and the room we stayed in was spacious, very clean and comfortable.
The hotel appears to only have rooms and a small eating area. There aren’t any other facilities, however this isn’t necessarily an issue if all you plan to do is hike from the hotel. The hotel is situated around 40 minutes drive from Ella town.
The food was delicious and the location was stunning.
The location of the property is amazing- peaceful and quiet and surrounded by nature. The two young men who work here are very warm and attentive.
The property suited us but may be basic for some. some outdoor furniture for verandas would be good.
What a great place hidden in the hills surrounded by forest. Great food and really quite a stylish place. Highly recommended
We loved the proximity of this place to Amba Tea Estate which is nice for a tea, coffee, light lunch and ofcourse tea tour. Its also the starting point of a nice walk to Ella town. Rock 'n Fall has potential, with its quiet secluded location. The team is friendly, they put effort and are really trying. Food is tasty and fair priced. The place is still developing, and construction of a new room was ongoing when we were there.
The facilities need improvement - ground-floor room is too damp to rent. In the nicest spaces, like the garden and roof terrace, there are hardly any comfortable sitting areas. For the price charged, they need to up their game overall. Cleanliness was so-so, bedsheets are too small so you end up touching the mattress all the time, operations overall need to professionalise for the mid range price charged.
The staff here made our trip! Accommodation is quite new, and we had a few missing items; however when staff was informed, they went out of their way to give us what we needed and more!
Breakfast was SUPER and dinner portions were huge. Great value for money!
Served with a smile and it was clear that these people love what they do 😊
Room was a bit humid, but to be fair we had loads of rain during our stay.
Picturesque view. Rooftop sunsets 360. Riiich breakfast. Nicely staff. Family of monkeys lives nearby.
It would be nice to have a little garden and a little more privacy.
The staff were super sweet and helpful and the room spacious
It was a little far away from Ella town, but the staff were helpful organising tuk tuks and you are able to Uber
Beautiful view, helpful friendly staff. They gave us blankets, because it is cold outside. Breakfast is tasty, only wish have more variety of choice.
The style of the room was nice and the staff was super friendly and helpful!
The location is quite off, and it is a bit difficult to get a Uber/pick me form this location when leaving (however, half price with the apps compared to the local car services). However the staff are the hotel are very helpful to arrange transport to and from Ella with private driver for the day (with reasonable prices!)
The water boilder is sun powered, and after a gray and rainy day in Ella it was frustrating to not be able to get a hot shower.
Surrounded by trees high above Ella with fantastic misty views - this small remote accommodation is enveloped in nature. Very attentive helpful staff. The Sri Lankan food was simple but the most tasty we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far.
The bottom ‘rock’ bedroom is quirky but a bit damp due to it being cave-like. Top bedrooms are best. As it’s so remote, it takes a while to get to anywhere else. Be prepared to just enjoy the walks and visiting AMBA from there. Water pressure very low.
The location is amazing. Far from the crowds in Ella with sweeping views. Great for people who love hiking and being in nature. The food they prepared was amazing!
Huge clean room, with crisp white sheets, lots of hot water which we needed after our hike on Pekoe trail today , stage 15. A short tuk tuk ride from the end of the hike provided by our host.
Beautiful surroundings and rustic edge to the vicinity which we liked.
Cold beers and chips served on the roof top with incredible views towards Ella.
Thank you for the lovely dinner, freshly made soup and veggies. Breakfast was also delicious.
Great stop for Pekoe hikers.
Great bathroom with rock features. Staff super friendly and helpful.
Plenty of trails to walk on and easy access to stage 15 of Pekeo Trail.
Indika was an excellent host and his accomodation is in a quiet secluded location. There so much to do around here being close to Stage 15 of the Pekoe Trail, close to tea tours of Amba Tea Plantation and so many other interesting walks. It is not a fancy boutique hotel. But it is exactly right for those wanting to feel more closely connected with the real Sri Lanka.
