All amenities were well appointed. Property is in a very good location
The total absence of a WC in the bathroom was a bother

The service and how the manage late check ins. Upon arrival, you scan your id at the self check in machine and makes you pay for the property fee “again” even though it’s been payed for at booking.com. When I called the after hours help number they said to pay it again and they will reimburse the fee in about 3-5 business days which is ridiculous
Security and automated check in worked well once I had got inside the front doors, but there was no obvious way to get into the building to check in.
Bed comfortable but extra blanket would have been handy.
Misleading information about how to enter the building: check in hours were given as 2pm to 11pm, with a sign on the front door advising for after hours checkin to phone a particular number. I arrived at 5pm and did not consider myself to be checking in after hours, so I did not phone the number. I could not get into the building until someone left by opening the doors from the inside. Once inside, I had to open the outside doors twice to rescue other people locked outside.
The sign on the door needs to be specific: that to get into the building, regardless of the time, you have to phone the given number.
Definitely wasn't 4 star. Extremely old, run down,uncomfortable furnishings. In desperate need of a update.

The contactless check in! We had problems using the machine to check in as it didn’t accept my drivers license, luckily I also had my passport. Other people also had problems checking in and there was a lady trying to help everyone, but it wasn’t ideal.

Value for dollar - exceptional. Biggest apartment we have ever rented in Melbourne. Cheap and chearfull, would have been a top end fit out in the 1990's when it was renovated, now very tired and needs updating, but value for money absolutely tip top.
The check in said reception was open until 5. But it was closed and there was no-one at reception at 4 when we arrived. We couldn't get into the building until another resident came along and opened the door. Then it was a self check-in machine, took trying 4 different eftpos cards on the auto check in machine to get the deposit to process and then we had difficulty accessing the 2nd set of room keys. We lost a card in all the confusion at the machine, so we went down and tried reception to see if it was handed in - again, no-one there, so we messaged through booking.com as they didn't answer the phone, they messaged back later advising us to check with housekeeping - but we couldn't because we had no way to find them as security access all floors and no-one in reception or answering phones.
The location is fabulous, close to everything including Spencer Street Station for the Sky Bus. Apartment was lovely and great value for money.
Automated checkin was malfunctioning and I couldn’t get my room key. Thank goodness the lovely room service lady was there and helped to liaise with the building management personnel. Others also encountered this problem so hopefully this is fixed asap.
