I would book this hotel again in a heartbeat. Close to cruise terminal and airport. Beautiful view from our balcony.

The food was delicious in the restaurants especially the Duck dish
Pros:

It was well located but I wasn’t expecting the very steep hill back from the restaurants.

Not good communication with the booking department.. Sent many emails with no answer. The staff in the hotel were good though, which was more important.

Hotel dla mało wymagających
Pros:

Bardzo uprzejma obsługa, dość dobra lokalizacja (blisko centrum), obiekt ładnie wygląda z zewnątrz.

Cons:

Przede wszystkim hotel wprowadza w błąd na booking, pisząc o podgrzewanym basenie. Wybrałam go właśnie dlatego, na miejscu rozczarowanie. Woda zimna, obsługa mówi, że nie mają podgrzewania.
Brak górnych lamp, jedynie dwie nocne jako całe oświetlenie pokoju.
Dziwne zasady dotyczące kolacji- elegancki strój? To Madera- ludzie przyjeżdżają na trekking.
Hotel na wzgórzu, więc powrót z miasta wymaga wejścia pod górę, brak pobocza (średnio komfortowo, gdy podróżujesz z dziećmi).
W pokoju nieprzyjemny zapach stęchlizny.

Sehr schöner Ort
Pros:

Die Lage, fußläufig zur Markthalle und Innenstadt. Der tolle Ausblick. Der Hotelpark. Dass wir ein kostenloses Upgrade erhalten haben.

Cons:

Dass im großen Upgradezimmer auch nach mehrmaliger Reklamation die Deckenlampe und die Dusche nicht repariert wurden. Aber wir konnten in der Badewanne duschen.

Pros:

Great hotel, I loved staying here. Only short 5-10 min walk from centre, with just a slight incline. Staff were very nice & breakfast was lovely

Cons:

Like a lot of Portuguese accommodation, the 1 free socket in the room is never where you need it, first world problems. Oh and there was some fiddly remote control to turn on the electricity, which sometimes worked first time, but more often didn't.
