Be aware that there is no public parking on-site, so you’ll need to use the public lot across the street for $30 a day.
I booked two king rooms and specifically asked at check-in whether they were the same. I was assured they were, but that was absolutely not the case. One room was quite nice, with a full bathroom. The other was roughly half the size, with the sink next to the bed and the toilet and shower on the opposite side of the room. To make matters worse, the bed was broken and slanted noticeably to one side. The heat also came on and then refused to turn off.
Feeling that I hadn’t received what I had booked, I approached the front desk. The young woman working there was confrontational, offered no apology or attempt to resolve the issue, and became increasingly hostile. I asked when the manager would be available and was told the following day, but we never had the opportunity to speak with them. After I walked away, the employee began aggressively typing and pounding on the desk. Since our party was waiting in the lobby, we were forced to sit through this uncomfortable display.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only unpleasant interaction. Later, another young woman became unnecessarily aggressive when we borrowed an umbrella from the hotel’s umbrella stand. There was only one umbrella available at the time, so we used it and returned it promptly. We were then told we couldn’t use it again, despite the fact that we later saw approximately six umbrellas available.
Between the vastly different room conditions, the broken bed, the uncontrollable heating, the $30 daily parking fee, and the four flights of stairs we had to navigate with all our luggage, this was already a disappointing stay. But what truly made the experience unacceptable was the attitude of the staff. Mistakes and inconveniences happen, but basic courtesy and customer service should never be optional.
I would absolutely not recommend this hotel.
The location - just in a heart of Newport historical place. Literally 2 steps to everything. Very cute room. Very authentic
Actually nothing. But if you have big luggage there is no elevator and there’s stairs where you should lift up your luggage

Room was quite small but cozy
The location was amazing, everything was around the corner. Very clean, breakfast was good, lots of fruit.
The room was not comfortable. The sofa was very worn off, uncomfortable to sleep, no one can sleep on such an uncomfortable bed. We did not have an option.
Really nice old building, right in downtown Newport, next to the historic district. Continental breakfast and afternoon tea are served every day

This is definitely not a 4 star venue. It is an old place, it is not quality versus price. A complete disappointment, saw the reviews and thought it was gonna be a beautiful place. However, it was very old, everything was disappointing. I must say that the breakfast was very complete though and the staff were OK as well. Would not recommend.
Very nice room. Very well done bathroom. Plenty of choices at breakfast.
