O local parece um paraíso, tudo muito lindo, limpo, chique, hotel familia.
Comunicação e aquele jogo de cintura pra resolver coisas pequenas. O hotel pra casa serviço tem um telefone diferente, nenhum contato tem WhatsApp pra Comunicação rápida. Quem vem de fora e compra chip internacional so se Comunica por msg e os telefones era só ligando. Coisas ínfimas de se resolver que ja temos vivência de vários outros hotéis era impossível de resolver, mesmo vc vendo que tava tudo ali, mas simplesmente se nao reservou com mais de um dia de antecedência nao vai dar. Nada disso foi explicado com antecedência pra gnt. O e-mail que eles nos mandam falando que qualquer dúvida so entrar em contato, mas nao tem os contatos no e-mail, vc tem que entrar no site e procurar.

The hotel was amazing with lots of things to do and it’s absolutely massive. We had a great time there and the wine was delicious.

The food at the Veld let us down. It was too salty and I barely finished it. The gin cocktail tasted like cough syrup. The breakfast was surprisingly delicious!!
We also used the spa on the day we were leaving but the spa fee didn’t put it through when we settled our extras before heading to the airport. The reception was chasing us and even sent us the wrong quote. A lack of professionalism here, but overall a great hotel.
Loads of spaces to explore. Beautiful decor
Very convenient because of its proximity to the road but that does mean there is a bit of low level traffic noise in some places. It didn’t bother me but I guess some people might want to know.
Beautiful setting with wonderful grounds to wander through with sculptures, art gallery, lovely shop, cafes and BBQ set alongside a river. Further afield are the vineyards and free range chickens which we didn't visit but Segway tours are available. I would say that the food is first class. The dinner both evenings in Veld were superb, preceded by drinks on the roof terrace. Breakfast was superb too with hot menu items and smoothies from a menu with a selection of cold buffet items to start. Service was a bit hit and miss with forgotten drinks, waiting a long to be served and felt chaotic at times.
The swimming pool is lovely but there are a lot of families with young children - if you want a quiet child-free hotel this may not be the place for you. In fact the pool seating area was often full to capacity with children and families. Our stay included a wine experience in the garden restaurant which was great fun. My only gripe was the bedroom where the carpet was heavily stained and the room wasn't properly cleaned. This issue wasn't really resolved despite me speaking to several members of staff - throughout the hotel there didn't appear to be any supervisors or clear lines of communication to get matters resolved. If you enjoy your wine, the minibar includes free wine which is re-stocked daily. There was always plenty of water in the room with a nightly turndown service.
It wasn't an issue for us but some guests may not wish to be surrounded by a lot young children with no separate family pool. Although there is a gym at the property this isn't on the resort map or mentioned anywhere, I happened to stumble across it on a walk.
We had a wonderful stay at Spier Hotel as a family of four with two young children. The interiors are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. The food was excellent, with great options for our daughter. Most of all, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us all feel at home. We can’t wait to return

Nice room with lovely shower. Restaurant excellent. Spa very nice (though don’t bother with the lunch package). Segway is a highlight on this lovely property which had music on some Friday and Saturday evenings though none of the hotel staff seemed to know about it.
Pool overrun by kids. Would be great if they had an adult only pool. Wine tasting lacked lustre and rushed. Bill ridiculously complex and confusing with food; alcohol; water; tax and tips all charged separately. Wish we’d kept a better record as we went along.
