One of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. Totally overpriced. Surprised booking.com supports this.
Pros:

Lovely location.

Cons:

Our room was directly above the bar and there seems to be no closing time, the earliest the music went off was 1.30am.

The room was filthy. We found broken glass under the bed and asked two members of staff to clean, but it was still left there. Eventually cleaned on our last evening.

The room was generally in a state of disrepair including half a shower door. The sink had a leak.

Very basic breakfast.

Pros:

Went for the location. Having read the reviews, I knew what to expect. However, there were no towels or toiletries provided, so remember to bring your own.Bed was also a little uncomfortable.

Cons:

Bar is pleasant for a drink, with nice views.I didn't eat at the place, so can't comment on the food

Pros:

Stunning location with the beach directly outside. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast freshly cooked. Food in the bar was good.

Great location with good food. However, facilities don't match the price.
Pros:

The location is fantastic. Beside a beach and situated at the bottom of the Slievemore mountains. The food (fish and chips and breakfast) was also of excellent quality and the staff were nice.

Cons:

The standard of facilities did not match the price charged. The breakfast service was chaotic if not entertaining at times. Despite the good quality fry at breakfast it was fend for yourself at times. The rooms were clean but certainly not 170 euro per night quality.

The toilet had not been flushed or cleaned from the previous occupants so there was an awful smell when entering the bathroom. Reception was poorly manned, breakfast was adequate

Die Lage ist toll, auch das Gebäude hat einen gewissen Charme.

Cons:

Das Familienzimmer war leider ziemlich heruntergekommen, die Einrichtung wirkte lieblos zusammengetragen. Die Zimmertür ließ sich von innen nicht absperren (nur mit einer Kette sichern), dafür aber auch nur schwer öffnen (kein Türgriff). Der Fernseher funktionierte nicht (Antennenkabel?), was uns nicht störte. Es gab aber auch kein W-Lan im Zimmer und kein warmes Wasser beim Waschbecken. Offenbar wurde das Zimmer länger nicht benutzt, denn im WC stand eine gelbe Flüssigkeit.

Location is great but don’t expect great comfort - it’s very aged
Pros:

The location is exceptional! Right on a sand beach in a lovely bay.

Cons:

It’s an aged hotel which should be renovated. The beds are not comfortable and the utilities below standard. It does hardly reach a 1 star level…
We did not stay for the breakfast: we went down to the restaurant room and it was so limited that we preferred to leave the premise.
But the staff were nice and helpful.

Pros:

It was close to the beach.

Cons:

We couldn't get hot water for a shower. The beds were terribly uncomfortable, and wifi was spotty downstairs and non-existent in the room.

Still a winner!
Pros:

This was our third stay, still love it. You cannot beat the location. Rustic and easy going, family run vibes. Loads of character. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to sort us even when we were late for breakfast.
