MAYA Apartments - Sentrum

Die Wohnung selber war sehr sauber und war mit dem Wichtigsten ausgestattet. Leider war das Treppenhaus eher schmutzig und nicht so einladend.

We booked the apartment with 3 bedrooms on the 5th floor. The apartment was spacious and generally well equipped.
When we arrived to the door of the apartment, the door code was not re-sent from the previous guest – so, we had to call the help line to re-set the door code to be able to enter the apartment after a long day of travel from Greece with 1 connection flight to arrive to Oslo. The young lady was helpful and nice, but the fact itself is something a bit disturbing.
Internet – there is NO internet simply! Our notebooks, mobiles, tables “saw” the network, but it is simply impossible to connect to wi-fi network. So, there is NO Internet in the accommodation – full stop. I am writing this review from Aurland (some 10 km away from Fläm) and we have high-speed wi-fi internet connection in the room, in the common areas – literally in the middle of nowhere. What is up with this, MAYA Apartments Sentrum – no wi-fi/internet in the center of Oslo for accommodation that you charge nearly 250 Euro per night, really?
On the negatives:
We felt that the apartment itself requires some basic cosmetic repairs – wall painting. Having a proper shampoo would be great.
Common areas do not withstand any criticism. The entrance on the ground floor, the elevator cabin etc. are worn out to an extend screaming for a major renovation. The carpet in the common areas on the 5th floor is simply disgusting – all with massive stains of questionable origin, terrible smell in the common areas of the 5th floor – you feel that you are in an awful hostel. We would never stay here again – this is one of those instances when it is not just about “location, location, location”.

Bagno decisamente troppo piccolo, in più di una persona era difficile stare. Peccato che la cucina non fosse attrezzata con almeno sale e olio

Apartamento trotero, de batalla. En las fotos parecía que estaba mejor. La tapicería de alguna silla y el sofá estaba sucia. Las camas son muy muy muy estrechas. Nos costó encontrar el cajón donde estaban los cubiertos en la cocina. No cuidan el detalle como dotar de un rollo de papel cocina o dejar cosas básicas como un poco de sal, azúcar, café. No funcionaba la wifi, estaba roto el enchufe. El personal tardó en contestar. No volvería a alojarme aquí.

It would be nice to have someone to show us how to use the place. It was difficult to find the front door.

La limpieza no era la mejor, me he alojado con mi bebé que andando por la casa encontró unos calcetines de antiguos clientes y también un ticket que no era nuestro . Las puertas suenan como si nunca les hicieran un poco de mantenimiento.

The place was not very clean (there was hair all over the floors and in the sinks). The fridge was set so cold that it froze all of our food and we had to throw it all away. We also had a concerning issue with the washer where something burned out in the machine, created a lot of smoke, and made all of our clothes and the apartment smell terrible. We couldn't get ahold of them when that issue happened and they emailed hours later to advise us that the washer would be replaced after our stay. We were left with wet and stinky clothes that we had to bring home with us.

Extreem nachtlawaai en kleine bedden. De gordijnen konden de nacht niet buiten houden: er was te veel lawaai en licht.
