Location was great
Property is old and its character shows that.it seems that it just needs that little bit more attention to detail to make the inn attractive. They seem to have half finished the rooms but what has been done is good
An old highland village inn now run by 2 brothers. Good value & the sort of full Scottish breakfast that sets you up for the day. Though ‘out of town’ for me since my focus was on and at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre I was pleased I’d made this choice especially when I discovered Friday night was music night!
Nothing to complain or bridle at
Friendliness and care from Daniel and his team..the food was top class
Nothing really..only fault is that the room needs a fresh lick of paint
Staff were very helpful and welcoming and the building although old was very clean and comfortable
No bad points
Squeaky floors. Dated bathroom
Check-in was easy with friendly staff. They were communicative proactively with late check in instructions (should you arrive post 7:30pm). Room was spacious and clean. My room was on the second floor and there was stairs. Complementary breakfast were delicious. I would stay here again.
Breakfast was amazing! It’s a good halfway point to Inverness and is close to Blair Castle and House of Bruar.
Was sad the restaurant wasn’t open for dinner
Rien.
It was clean and tidy perfect
Young lady serving dinner &breakfast superb, pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient,,was ready for a bit of banter,(a gem for any business)Very discrete, very attentativ,Would safely say that this young lady could/should advance swiftly if this is her career choice.....Booking in good, room could do with a bit of TLC,nothing a person useful with general repairs could not fix ......
General decor and very minor maintenance
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful both for the accommodation and at the restaurant. Food was good, room was warm and clean.
Strong smelling incense everywhere which was quite overpowering. There was a very loud appliance operating outside our room throughout the night too which meant we didn’t get a lot of sleep.
Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing.
We booked through Booking.com after specifically searching for a dog-friendly hotel. When booking, the first room offered did not allow dogs. Therefore we opted for the second room option that cost £20 more, which we assumed covered the dog fee. However, when we arrived, we were told there would be an additional £20 charge for the dog. I tried to clarify this, as I believed I had already paid the higher rate for a dog-friendly room, but was simply told that dogs cost extra. Due to being snow-trapped, we had little choice but to accept.
I also asked whether breakfast could be brought to the room due to a medical condition. Rather than explaining politely that this wasn’t possible, the response was a head shake...
We were told the room was cold because they “weren’t expecting us” and had only just turned the heating on. However, as the room was available to book, we would have expected it to be prepared for guests. The room remained very cold throughout the night.
As the result of an accident, I asked for cleaning supplies such as wipes or disinfectant. I was told nothing could be provided as it was “chemical based.” I then asked for a bucket of hot water, or anything i would be grateful for. Eventually, I was given some tissue and cold water in a tub.
It felt very dismissive not like somebody going out of their way in order to assist someone else in a situation because you genuinely wanted to help another person out.
Finally, the cleanliness of the room was very poor. The floor was visibly dirty, and after showering, water spread across the floor. When I used towels to dry it, they turned black from the dirt on the floor, which was very concerning.
Overall, the experience fell far below expectations, particularly in terms of communication, cleanliness, and basic hospitality.
Clean and presentable. Good food
Squeaky or loose floor board in corridor which vibrated our room bed. Strange
