Time Delayed
Pros:

Staff attentive and polite in the main. Ample parking, rooms are spacious, however...

Cons:

It is all a little dated, in need of investment, from the rooms, to the restaurant and out onto the golf course its all probably as was 15 years ago, The pictures portrayed on line are not representative of the current standard of repair or general environment.

The resturant that shows what appears to be fine dining is certainly not that, a selection of food from a laminated a4 is your choice, and whilst edible just not what your expecting.

Arrived for 1pm tee time, at mid day on a Sunday no food available other than a bacon roll or cheese sandwich.

The golf course was very wet so uncut fair fairway you can understand, however the general maintenance of bunkers, ponds and greens and pathways leaves a lot to be desired, I have to say it could be (as I'm sure it was once) a nice place to play golf with the right attention.

Rooms where clean, but again in need of some TLC in decor and repair.

Over all would say 5 out of 10 everything is there, just stuck back in time which is a shame cause it has potential.

comfortable but breakfast needs improvement
Pros:

nice location and surroundings, very friendly staff, room was comfortable and clean.

Cons:

Breakfast was terrible. at 8am the food presented had all been there for some time, it was dry and congealed, the scrambled eggs could plaster a wall, the baked beans had a thick skin on them, sausages and bacon dry and wrinkled. the juice was not fresh, there was no fruit or yogurt. I tried to eat one of the small croissants, but it was very dry and hard. Hot water for the tea came out of a thermos, so it was not boiling water (essential for a good cuppa). All i could eat was the boxed cereal with the tepid milk provided. not good. the evening meal of thai curry was passable.

Ok for work, but wouldn’t take my family there for a stay.
Pros:

Good location, plenty of parking.

Cons:

The whole hotel is pretty tired and needs some TLC. Heating not working in my room, no lights working in the car park when it got dark and the breakfast was passable. Breakfast certainly not worth £14.

Pros:

The website for this hotel is several years old and is woefully out of date. We arrived expecting a comfortable night in a spa hotel. However, on arrival it became apparent that the hotel had recently been used to house asylum seekers. I do not believe that the hotel has been properly cleaned since the last asylum seeker left.

The carpets were stained, the curtains were hanging from a couple of curtain hooks and there were mystery stains and splashes on all walls and switches. Every item of bedding was stained as was the mattress. We did not stay overnight, instead we booked the Churchill hotel 5 minutes down the road.

Cons:

The fact that the website is out of date and shows pictures of a pleasant spa hotel when jnfact it is a former asylum hotel that hasnt been refurbished.

Avoid this shocking hotel at all costs. Unless you want to just play Golf. That’s all it’s good for.
Pros:

Nothing to comment about for the first time in my life I am gobsmacked.

Cons:

No food menu for children despite promoting it as family friendly. Adult menu shocking for dinner a few curries on the menu which were not Authentic. I did not like the hotel or the staff members. They did not want to be there and have no care in the world. Please do yourself and family a favour. Do not book this hotel it has low ratings for a reason. It should not be trading end off they have no idea about hospitality.

When I asked them you specialise in curries why are they so bland and not authentic. I was told because we cater for old people mainly. As there is a retirement home on site. They prefer food to have no spice and that’s what works for them. Why should I suffer because of old people not having taste buds. The menu should be fair end off. If their clients are generally the elderly then market their hotel for that exactly. Do not give false sense of security that families are welcome and young couples. I get I will
Age as well. Whilst I am not I would like to enjoy the hotel and food without feeling robbed. The only good thing is the golf. Rooms look tired and hotel needs a good refurbishment. Staff and owners are very greedy taking peoples money for providing a poor service. This hotel should be awarded 0 star rating. Absolutely shocking I bet the curry they cook at home is authentic. Instead we were given prison slop. I am not in prison even a shop
Bought curry will pass the test. Breakfast was edible not the best either. Whoever the chef is they need to go they cannot cook food well. The money paid for this hotel
Is shocking it is below standards. They never provided the service they promised when booking. They will not respond to my complaints or booking.com. They are used to taking customer’s money and getting away with it. I am not that customer who will keep quiet . People work hard and you have stolen their money. Do the right thing sort your food, cleanliness of rooms out properly. Stay at the holiday inn or premier inn not here.
