Good choice for an overnight stay.
Pros:

Very helpful and friendly staff. Good food and parking. Interesting bedroom and general decor.

Cons:

No lift so stairs to the first floor bedrooms.

The Royal Hotel - Featherston's best kept secret
Pros:

Excellent character and decor, a real treat. Everything was very good quality. And some nice touches in our room such as chilled water in the fridge. It was like stepping back in time but with modern comfort. Beautifully done.
We also really liked the excellent Brac and Bow restaurant and bar service that was conveniently part of the hotel. The staff did a great job.

Cons:

We weren't affected during our stay, but I think the doors are not well insulated so you'd hear if other guests opened or closed a door (they do provide earplugs though).

Pros:

A real gem here; the aesthetics of the hotel's interior is splendid. Food, drinks and service were also exceptional, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Looking forward to my next stay.

Gorgeous, historic hotel with delicious meals. Well worth a visit.
Pros:

Beautifully furnished room with many extras including bath salts and bath robes. Delicious meals, excellent wine list and attentive service by the owner. Loved our stay. It’s worth staying for breakfast.

Excellent facilities. So clean and very comfortable! Lovely restaurant and bar on site. Attention to detail spot on. Communication from the owners before we arrived very helpful.

We really enjoyed the stay and will be back.
Pros:

Loved the ambience of our room. The decor was on point. It was charming and spacious.

Cons:

There was no indication of stairs, I am recovering from a knee replacement so the two flights of quite steep steps were a challenge.
The towel size could have been a bit more generous. Lovely to have a coffee plunger but a bigger one would have been better. There was only one hot chocolate sachet and there were two of us. An extra bin also would been good.
