River. Our hostess looked after us really well and helped us with our tours and onward travel arrangements Breakfast had an option for granola and home made yogurt that made a great change from the typical offers Loved watching the king fishers and other birds from the balcony

Hotel Lara's Planet is an exceptional place. It is located directly at the river, where you can relax on your balcony and watch the coming and goings on the river. The hotel/room was super clean and we had nice natural cooling in our room. Natasha is a fantastic host. She is super knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast is super.

It was a nice place within easy walking distance of the boat dock. My room was big and clean. Despite what is said on the Wxpedia booking website;
Unilingual staff.
No hammock on deck.
Cash only and no ATM in town.
No gym.

We loved this hotel. Natasha was an angel.Her staff were friendly and helpful. Her rooms were huge, airy, clean, and comfortable. The balcony was a great place for watching the sunset. Breakfast consisted of lots of fruit, eggs, toast, and delicious rice pancakes. Natasha went out of her way to help organize our journey back to Leon. ❤️

The location was great. The food was great - nice to have home-grown vegetables cooked well with the meals. The staff was helpful arranging tours and reserving the return boat. The room was comfortable. The views across the river from the dining area and the terrace below it were amazing.

The breakfast was great, the room spacious and the bathroom well supplies. Hot water with no interruption. We had a great balcony overlooking the river.

All in all a great expérience. You can go there without worries.

Beautiful dining/relaxing area in front of the river

Breakfast was delicious , fresh fruit, spicy omelette bread and honey. We were the only guests so we had a lot of space to enjoy the views and relax by the river. Warm shower was much appreciated after our trip on the river and into the Indio Maiz.

We had a wonderful stay in El Castillo at „Laras Planet“. The town is tranquil and extremely relaxed, no cars and full of djungle vibes. Our host Natasha was so friendly and nice. She prepared a delicious curry for us and the best mango coconut smoothie ever. She organized a canoe tour, which we fully recommend! Her hotel is beautiful and you always have a cool breeze over there. The view from the balcony over the Rio San Juan is just great. In the nighttime you have to deal with some bat traffic around the roof. But, well, you’re in the djungle! So we highly recomend this really sweet place!

Natacha is a great host, many thanks for the stay!. The balcony over the river is wonderful. Hot water with solar panels very nice building with wood and bamboo. The food is mainly from the garden and is very tasty and fresh. You can organise all the trips from here: caiman tour with Roberto "el pellón" is a must do. Indio maíz with Don Secundino was also very nice. Rio San Juan region is definitely one of my favourite destination in Nicaragua.

Beautiful House / Rooms and terrace. Very good breakfast, italian dish for dinner with vegetables/herbs from the own garden, fresh fruit juices and very helpfull host/staff.

Comfortable bed, squeaky clean bathroom, plenty of room, great location, and the staff was hospitable and fun.

Natasja was the best! She can help you with everything you like to do and arrange the tours into the indio mais! The rooms are better than de pictures, nice bathroom and a good bed! Thankyou Natasja for you hospitality you are a lovely person!

We were greeted by Natalie, who could not. have been more friendly or helpful.The room we booked was nice and as described but we upgraded to the bigger room which has a wonderful view along the river. The room was airy & spacious and had a lovely balcony with a hammock to relax in. Hot water and. Internet was available. Remember when booking at El Castillo it is a remote village where everything has to be bought in by boat. Considering this the standard was much better then we expected. We really enjoyed our stay here.
