The Coconut Gardens Hotel & Restaurant

Lovely hotel in Tissamahamara, perfect for relaxing before or after a Yala National Safari trip! The staff were kind enough to pack us lovely breakfast for 5.00am (!!) to take with us on safari. They have a lovely pool area with lots of sun beds, and each room has a veranda/porch to relax on or watch the sunset.

The restaurant is very good, we had a waitress who took excellent care of us, and our driver (taking us to Ella the next day) came to introduce himself during dinner. I would recommend the Sri Lankan specials on the menu!

Wat een heerlijke plek. We hebben de safari's via Coconut garden geregeld en daar waren we erg blij mee. Ze leveren goede gidsen/chauffeurs. We hadden de mazzel dat we meteen in de ochtend een luipaard zagen die een stekelvarken aanviel en na de lunchpauze gewoon een lippenbeer!! Het eten is heerlijk. Wij hadden 4 dagen all inclusive en daar hebben we geen spijt van gehad. Elke dag een andere kaart om uit te kiezen. Ze verzorgen het eten als je een hele dag op safari bent. Dinushi bij de bediening heeft ons hart gestolen. Ze doet haar werk goed en is altijd in voor ene praatje. Het zwembad is fijn, de ligbedden incl badlakens zijn aanwezig. Er worden op dit moment 8 verblijven bijgebouwd (geen last van gehad), Coconut garden doet het goed en dat verbaasd ons niks.

Toller Unterkunft, wir hatten auch viel Spass im Pool und haben sehr schön gegessen und geschlafen. Sehr nettes Personal, viele Frauen. Netterweise konnten wir mit Zustellbett auch mit 5 Personen (3 Kindern) übernachten. Nach unserer Safari durften wir sogar noch im Zimmer duschen, obwohl wir dann abgereist sind.

We had a great stay ! We stayed only one night and were very happy to enjoy the pool, dinner and drinks under a lit up garden and an amazing safari planned by the hotel. The hotel staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, everyone was so kind ! The design of the hotel with the huts and palm trees is beautiful.

Exceptionally nice people and great service. We booked a taxi ride via the hotel which turned out to be a top sight seeing and guided tour.

המקום מושלם. הצוות אדיב ונחמד באופן יוצא דופן, רוצים לעזור ולסייע בכל ולתת מענה לכל צורך או בקשה. בעל המקום נמצא ואירח אותנו באדיבות ובידידות. בערב הראשון הוא לקח אותנו לסיבוב לראות את האגם ולמסעדה נפלאה בשם Red. ישנו בשאלה שהיתה מרווחת, מצוחצחת והמיטה היתה נוחה מאד. ארוחת הבוקר מפנקת וטעימה מאד כוללת ארוחה מערבית וארוחה סרילנקית.
הזמנו סיור בספארי והנהג היה מקצועי מאד. באחד הימים הרגשתי לא טוב ובעל המקום דאג למשלוח של פירות ושתיה שיקלו עלי עד שהחלמתי. לסיכום, גן עדן מושלם, מומלץ ביותר. אנחנו נחזור.

Csodálatos helyen van, a személyzet nagyon kedves és segítőkész. Az ételek rendben voltak, safari túrát is itt szerveztünk, a legjobb vezetőt kaptuk szerintem. Ár-érték arányban is tökéletes. Ajánlom mindenkinek

Das Personal, das Essen und die Lage waren excellent.

Fantastic location, excellent staff - very friendly, sociable and couldn’t do enough to help. Very good at putting anti mosquito scent around the site / restaurant at sunset. Refreshing swimming pool, great, spacious lodges (we were given a free upgrade as middle east conflict meant they were quieter than usual), tasty food (6 curry and rice was best I’ve had in 5 weeks in Sri Lanka) - would highly recommend.
We had a great sunrise Jeep safari experience. We’re very lucky to see a Leopard crossing the road in front of us within an hour of being in the park! The hotel gave us a packed breakfast to take at 5am! Great service 😊

Staff couldn’t do more for us, they were so helpful with sorting a safari for us and for making sure we got a transfer the next day.

Room was very comfy and pool was excellent!

The safari planned by the hotel was brilliant, our guide Sheev was brilliant, took us to all the quiet spots and we saw so many animals including elephants and a leopard!

It was in a very beautiful and spacious location with a fantastic pool.
The room was excellent with comfortable bed and great air con. The staff were welcoming and made our stay a good one

Sehr großes, sauberes und schönes Zimmer. Frühstück war sehr umfangreich und sehr gut, auch das Abendessen war wunderbar. Alle sind sehr freundlich, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. In der Früh haben wir Warane im Garten gesehen :-) Klare Empfehlung.

Staff were fantastic, good location, quite, didn’t eat so cannot comment. Huge pool that was clean. Stayed one night for safari to Yala NP.

サファリパークへのアクセスの良さ、素敵なプール、清潔なヴィラ、そしてなによりスタッフの皆様がとても親切でした。　
1歳の息子をみんなで遊んでくれて、本当に良かったです。
部屋はとても清潔で、子供がハイハイするのも全く問題ありませんでした。
子連れにも本当におすすめです！

The hotel was well located in a nice quiet spot. The one bedroom chalets are well appointed and large with a good sized bathroom as well.

All the staff were extremely friendly and attended all our requests with a smile. The food from the restaurant was excellent, including the packed lunch for our tour of Yala NP.

All in all a fantastic stay whilst exploring the local area!
