The location was convenient. The view was nice though the window was dirty. The kitchen utilities were good. It was close to a supermarket and a walking distance from a few places to see. The AC works well, though it's loud and the wall has open holes to the outside. There was a bank in the same building so there were heavily armed guards present which made it feel a bit safer. The front desk is also operated (seemingly) around the clock. The other residents in the building were friendly.
The host was awful and I spent a lot of time hunting cockroaches in the room. Stranger's hair and weird liquid stains on the pillowcases.
I wrote three requests and questions to the host before checking in and the host ignored every message.
The lock to the room broke down at night and I was locked out after 4 uses of the lock. It was a simple deadbolt. I was blamed for this and was told that I had accepted the conditions when I checked in and the lock worked, so that means it breaking down after a 4 uses is my fault. The host also insisted that the locks were changed only two weeks ago, even though there was a marker note taped on the lower handle lock to not use it (because it was broken and will lock the guest out if used), and to just use the upper deadbolt. The deadbolt & handle made noise, shook when used and felt flimsy even before breaking down.
So, out of the two "new" locks, one was already broken and the other broke after 4 uses. This was blamed on me.
Without a local phone number I had to ask a guard to call the host for me when I got locked out.
The host then demanded that I pay for the locksmith fees and also pay for the host's employee for coming there (despite being the host's employee...). The employee was very nice to me.
The lock in the door is the most important safety measure in any place to stay. I don't find it plausible that I misused a simple deadbolt lock. I was very careful and never needed to use force before it broke. I found it unsettling that a host does not take responsibility for this basic necessity in the room.
The room had cockroaches and I had to seal my bags to not let them in my stuff. The dishes and cutleries were washed with the unsafe tap water so I recommend rewashing anything you use with bottled water. The shower door falls off its hinges constantly and the other side doesn't move. No info about trash or laundry.
As a solo traveler the room is just right. It can accommodate up to three (a couch turns to a bed) people but it would be very tight. It has a small kitchen with a stove to prepare your meals if you want to chill at home (other places with a kitchen is not equipped with a stove). Basic kitchenware is provided. Definitely the main feature would be the amazing view of Makati and Manila Bay especially the sunset view. Trust me those views will never get old. Roof deck access is a plus. Pool is spacious and the gym is clean with enough equipment so that it does not crowded. Many dining options are available around the area, as well as the convenience of a Walter Mart grocery store across the street, as well as a small local mall close by. A 15-20 minute walk to Greenbelt and close to a nearby park. The host is very responsive.
Elevators are a bit slow but that is expected as there are many tenants in the building.
The location and facilities is more a merit of the condominium rather than this unit but they are quite convenient.
The big benefit for me was that there were nice non-sticking pots and frying pan at the kitchen so I could cook my own food.
The table was also convenient both for eating and working. Some other units in the same building don’t have even that.
The unit provided rubber slippers which turned out to be very handy
The bed is too narrow for two adults.
There is no wardrobe but you can deal with it for a short stay.
The aircon is super noisy.
The sofa is really old and deformed so it hurts to seat on it.
But the worst thing is that this place is infested with cockroaches. They were everywhere! In every drawer at the kitchen, on the table while you’re working at it, in the bathroom and even on the walls and floors near the bad. It’s a general problem for the whole building but we’ve stayed in 3 different units and one of them didn’t have insects at all, the other one had some but this one was a nightmare. So keep in mind to lock all of your bags and valuables or you’ll bring some of these guys back home with you.
One of the best stays we had, we really liked the condo unit as it was simple but had everything we needed, pool is free and from 6:30am - 10pm, also there's rooftop deck on each tower we really recommend visiting cause the views are amazing and also great for planes spoting at NAIA. Our hosts were really nice and accommodating too 😊
