Cheap and cheerful hotel with top chef!
Pros:

The staff were really helpful, they cooked us probably the best meal we had in Sri Lanka, absolutely fabulous Kottu, Dahl and fried rice. They even let us help in the kitchen! The rooms all had aircon. The sunset over the lake was amazing.

Cons:

Rooms were basic, limited access to plugs for charging. No menu to look at (but they cooked what we wanted) Limited wifi

Honest review. Don't stay here if you can stay somewhere else.
Pros:

It was not expensive. Breakfast was very good Sri Lankan dahl and parotta and sauce and plenty of fruit and tea.

Cons:

I was riding a motorbike and had to stay here as I wouldn't have made it much further before dark. The main area was very dark, no lights on and I had to get a gardener to find somebody to check me in. There was a dispute about the price even though I booked it through booking.com. It took 45 minutes to check in before I got into the room. I was very hot and tired because of the motorbike ride so without thinking I stripped off to have a shower. No towel, no soap. Got dressed, had to go downstairs to find someone (in the kitchen) to get towel and soap. Shower was good, OK water pressure. Room was fairly clean. A/C was weak. No water in room so I had to go downstairs again and find a water dispenser and a clean jug and a glass. It became a serve-yourself situation because there were no staff to assist with even the most basic requirements.
I think I was the only person staying there and I felt like I was an inconvenience. The huge dining room downstairs was like a banquet room, and I think this place is set up for weddings and events & has accommodation for families and guests attending the function. They are not ready to take occasional guests and they can't be bothered. Common areas were dirty.

Disappointing say
Pros:

The location suited us as we were cycling.

Cons:

The bathroom smelt of sewage and there was rat poo in the bathroom. The wall had a very big crack in it. All afternoon there was VERY loud music which mercifully didn't go on in the evening. The staff were not welcoming or helpful.

Excellent Stay at Bee and Birds Hotel
Pros:

I like the attitude of the Staff and the Management.
Also the location of the hotel is ideal for the visitors to "Pimbureththewa spill tank" tourist attraction.
Food is also commendable.
Good spacious rooms.

Cons:

Nothing Much to dislike. Excellent Property

It’s very remote. No shops or restaurants. The hotel provide a nice rice n curry. We were only there to see the pimburat
Pros:

The staff were efficient although we weren’t sure they were expecting us.

Cons:

The doors to the outside were left open which let in lots of night beetles.
Was a bit grubby but it was possibly the end of their season. The fridge needed a good clean
