Location
Nothing
The situation and history . Have stayed before and standards still high.
Would really appreciate some proper coffee with my breakfast.
The location is fantastic view over the Thames and short walk to Abingdon Town centre.
Staff always good, quiet and pleasant location just 5 mins walk from the centre of town. ‘Rooms in good condition and nice & clean
Please please please offer vegetarian sausages for (with!) breakfast - I must have asked for this >10 times over the past five or six years …
The location was great
Bed size, lack of luxury compared to how it sounded on the website, decor had a lot of marks and splashes up painted walls
Poor cheap producd
Quality
Friendly staff, good atmosphere, great location.
Indecipherable WiFi instructions
Luxurious room and lovely breakfast
Beautiful setting right next to the Thames.
Comfortable bed & a good nights sleep.
Excellent cooked breakfast.
Helpful staff.
Whatever I tried, I could not access the WiFi. The QR code to be scanned didn’t appear to connect whilst downstairs. When it did come up whilst upstairs, it keep saying invalid username or password despite getting a Message through on my phone giving me the username & password to log in. Very frustrating.
Room 18 appeared to be a newly refurbished room which looked nice, although the layout was rather cramped. May have been better to have a sliding door to the shower room as door couldn’t fully open due to bed being too close. The new shower room was quite tight & although we had 2 hand towels & 2 bath towels, there were no hooks or towel rail to hang them from! The one small self adhesive hook on the wall fell off when I shut the door, so just squished it back on. Definitely not strong enough to hold a towel.
Good breakfast, particularly enjoyed the Greek yogurt with fruit compote.
Lovely location, great view of The Thames from our room
We didn't get to eat in the restaurant as there was a wedding on the day we arrived, this made parking difficult and it was a little noisy but it didn't spoil our stay too much
The room was clean, spacious and well-maintained, and the fan was a great addition during the hot weather, it really helped keep the room comfortable. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches like the tea sachets and the full set of bathroom amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap. The location was quiet and peaceful, making it a relaxing place to stay. Breakfast was nice English breakfast.
There were a couple of disappointing aspects. There was no clear information about how to access the WiFi, which would have been helpful.(if there was sign inside the room that would be good) More importantly, we had an uncomfortable experience during breakfast. While a staff member offered toast to other guests, we were not asked. As South Asian guests, we couldn’t help but feel overlooked it may have been a mistake, but it left us feeling quite unwelcome.
With a few improvements in communication and attentiveness, this could be a much better experience for all guests.
