Luxurious room and lovely breakfast
Lovely location, great view of The Thames from our room
We didn't get to eat in the restaurant as there was a wedding on the day we arrived, this made parking difficult and it was a little noisy but it didn't spoil our stay too much
The room was clean, spacious and well-maintained, and the fan was a great addition during the hot weather, it really helped keep the room comfortable. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches like the tea sachets and the full set of bathroom amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap. The location was quiet and peaceful, making it a relaxing place to stay. Breakfast was nice English breakfast.
There were a couple of disappointing aspects. There was no clear information about how to access the WiFi, which would have been helpful.(if there was sign inside the room that would be good) More importantly, we had an uncomfortable experience during breakfast. While a staff member offered toast to other guests, we were not asked. As South Asian guests, we couldn’t help but feel overlooked it may have been a mistake, but it left us feeling quite unwelcome.
With a few improvements in communication and attentiveness, this could be a much better experience for all guests.
Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff and good price. The room was spotless.
The room got boiling hot and there’s no air conditioning. The staff was very nice and gave me a fan when I wandered around the hotel unable to sleep at 2am. The breakfast was quite meh - I expected more from a 5 star hotel. Similar to what you’d get at a Travelodge.
Hotel is lovely but a bit outdated.
Excellent facilities in a lovely house with character
the staff were extremely helpful especially getting cooling fans in a heat wave.
the premises needs a way of cooling the rooms and breakfast room..
The situation of the hotel and rooms were very picturesque. Our room had an amazing view overlooking the river. Very clean and modern room with a comfy bed and lovely bathroom.
Plug socket on both sides of the bed was needed.
Had to checkout early before breakfast and was offered a takeaway breakfast which was very poor. There was no bottle of water, no spoon to eat the yogurt, 2 tiny slices of bread with a jam and marmalade portion, no butter and no knife to spread the jam. Also the restaurant was closed as a function was on and had to go elsewhere for an evening meal.
Good breakfast, particularly enjoyed the Greek yogurt with fruit compote.
Beautiful setting right next to the Thames.
Comfortable bed & a good nights sleep.
Excellent cooked breakfast.
Helpful staff.
Whatever I tried, I could not access the WiFi. The QR code to be scanned didn’t appear to connect whilst downstairs. When it did come up whilst upstairs, it keep saying invalid username or password despite getting a Message through on my phone giving me the username & password to log in. Very frustrating.
Room 18 appeared to be a newly refurbished room which looked nice, although the layout was rather cramped. May have been better to have a sliding door to the shower room as door couldn’t fully open due to bed being too close. The new shower room was quite tight & although we had 2 hand towels & 2 bath towels, there were no hooks or towel rail to hang them from! The one small self adhesive hook on the wall fell off when I shut the door, so just squished it back on. Definitely not strong enough to hold a towel.
Very good
Room sold as luxury double and wasn't a king-size. Bed.Room so hot no air conditioning couldnt open windows much.Given a large noisy fan which didn't help sleep. Was not a luxury room.Very basic.
It’s in a very quiet scenic location. It is a period house, albeit decor is a bit tired looking, especially the big hallway. The staff were very friendly. Food was very good. especially breakfast. Bedroom 19 was comfortable but see comments re access to room & bathroom.
We were allocated room 19 with access to it via several corridors & stairways & through heavy fire doors (which accept is a necessity). The bathroom was along a corridor from the bedroom with 3 steps up to it. There was no sensor light in the corridor (which there are in other corridors) & as light switch not immediately outside bedroom door, & because of 3 steps to the bathroom, the corridor light was left on all night for safety. The shower is over the bath but not anti slip. No hooks to hang towels etc and no shelving to put toiletries on. Feedback on this aspect was given to reception.
Location excellent, breakfast good
.
Location is beautiful and well situated for Oxford. The room was spacious and comfortable. All staff very friendly and helpful
Satnav did not take us to the correct place on a dark January night. Further descriptors from the hotel would have helped
