Sumatra Thomas Leaf Monkey Guesthouse & Jungle Trek

Le jardin envirronnant est très agréable et bien entretenu. Le logement est simple mais très propre, l'essentiel y est. Le personnel est attentif et aidant, très gentil

Brian est un hôte exceptionnel ! Attentif, attentionné et très sympathique ! Les repas sont vraiment délicieux et préparés avec des produits locaux. Il propose aussi des activités telles que des treks en forêt, des visites du villages ou encore de la grotte aux chauves souris pendant lesquelles il partage son impressionnante connaissance de la faune et de la flore.

Nous avons séjourné une seconde fois avec Brian. Un séjour toujours excellent !

The accommodation was perfect, family business. We booked last minute but the accommodation was ready in 10 minutes and meanwhile we received a welcome drink. Brian's colleagues from the association took us to the 7 hours jungle trek, we saw plenty of monkeys including orangutans. For the last day Brian arranged for us a private car to Lake Toba with a several stops on the way. We can only recommend this accommodation.

A beautiful place with a very friendly owner and staff which is actually regularly visited in the morning by macaques and Thomas leaf monkeys.

Great value for money. The staff were amazing. They played guitar and sang while we ate and also helped us with the busses when we left. They stored our bags for a small fee while we went on a jungle trek. The standard rooms have a bathroom outside which can be expected from the photos. They also speak very good English and the food is delicious.

We had an amazing stay with Brian and his wife. The bungalow was wonderful, nestled in their beautiful garden, making it the perfect place to relax.

We also joined their cooking class, and it was absolutely fantastic. We were able to choose three dishes, which we prepared using fresh ingredients picked directly from Brian's garden. We even got to watch them harvest a coconut straight from the tree!

The cooking class was so much fun, and we learned a lot. You can really feel the passion and love that Brian and Aika have for cooking, and how much they enjoy sharing their knowledge with others. We highly recommend staying here and taking the cooking class. Even if you only have a short time in the area, come here for a meal and let Brian and Aika spoil you with their incredible food and warm hospitality.

The family who runs the hostel is really nice! Good location. Breakfast is included and it's really good. I would recommend this place.

Brian en zijn neefje Louis waren erg open en vriendelijk. De accomodatie zag er super netjes uit en ze konden ons overal mee helpen. Je kan er ontbijten, lunchen en avondeten en het eten was echt heerlijk! De jungletrek die we hebben gedaan onder begeleiding van onze gids Rosit (en zijn zwager) was echt geweldig! Ze wisten echt waar ze het over hadden en hebben ons een hele fijne tijd bezorgd. We zijn ook nog een dagje naar het platteland geweest waar Brian ons van alles vertelde over de rijstvelden en het maken van tempu, tofu en bruine suiker. Echt heel erg leuk en authentiek.

La habitación, las instalaciones y la ubicación fueron geniales, todo estuvo muy bien. Pero lo que más destacaría sin duda es la comida, la más rica que probamos en Sumatra, estaba increíble y nos encantaba todo.

La familia fue maravillosa, muy educados y respetuosos, y además fueron los únicos en todo el país que no intentaban vendernos nada. Nos ayudaron muchísimo con cosas como ir a por medicamentos, sacar dinero y también organizarnos el transporte al aeropuerto. Una experiencia perfecta.

They helped me organizing my trek with short notice and where very helpful. Pick-up from and drop-of to local bus.
Rooms are little huts which are basic but quite spacious in a Garden with monkeys closeby.
Really friendly staff and i enjoyed my time there.

Brian und seine Familie sind unglaublich gastfreundlich und kümmern sich um das Wohlbefinden ihrer Gäste. Das Essen im Restaurant schmeckt gut und die Betten sind bequemer als in den meisten anderen günstigen Unterkünften.

Das Dschungel Trekking war ein Highlight für die ganze Familie und die Guides haben sich bestens um unsere Kids gekümmert. Das wir die Orang Utan nicht gesehen haben war schade, zeigt aber, dass es sich um Wildtiere handelt, welche nicht extra für Touristen angefüttert werden. Und so soll es ja sein!

Das die Thomas Leaf Monkeys jeden Tag in den Garten kamen um Früchte vom Baum zu naschen, war ein zusätzlicher Pluspunk.

We did the 3-day, 2-night jungle trek with Thomas Leaf Monkey and had an amazing experience. Our guides, Gerry and Sucky, were very caring and fun people who gave us an unforgettable time. We saw a lot of wildlife and truly enjoyed being surrounded by nature.

We also spent two nights at the Thomas Leaf Monkey guesthouse, where everyone was very kind and helpful. They made us feel extremely welcome. After the jungle trek, they even did our laundry (and cleaned our shoes!) and provided a great massage.
