Wow - everything was perfect at Old is Gold. Kiran, the host and his family are so welcoming, kind and really great hosts. Wonderful Himachali food, lovely clean, comfortable and warm rooms and a communal fire place which was a lovely spot to stay warm and talk with the family. The views are incredible, seeing snow capped mountains and peaceful quiet and clean forest. You can tell this family really take care and love their land. This was the most beautiful and peaceful place we stayed at in the Jibhi area. Highly recommend it, thankyou!!!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Old is Gold Mudhouse in Jibhi for my first wedding anniversary, and I can confidently say that it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality of the host family was nothing short of extraordinary.

The mudhouse itself is a charming blend of rustic beauty and modern comfort. It stands as a testament to the region's cultural heritage while offering all the amenities one could need for a comfortable stay. The traditional architecture, coupled with the serene surroundings, made it the perfect retreat from our busy lives.

What truly made our stay special, however, was the incredible effort put in by the entire family to make us feel welcome and to celebrate our anniversary. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was not just comfortable, but also deeply personal and special.

The family took the time to decorate our room with balloons and other festive decorations, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere that made us feel incredibly cherished. Their attention to detail and thoughtfulness were evident in every aspect of the decoration, and it was clear that they genuinely cared about making our anniversary unforgettable.

In addition to the beautiful decorations, the family personally took us to the Banjar market, which is about 10 kilometers down the hill. This was not just a simple trip; it was an immersive experience where we got to shop for items related to our anniversary and decorations, guided by the knowledgeable and friendly members of the host family. Their willingness to share their local knowledge and to accompany us on this shopping trip was a testament to their generosity and hospitality.

Throughout our stay, we were treated to delicious homemade meals that highlighted the local cuisine and traditions.

My friend and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Old is Gold Mudhouse, nestled in the heart of nature. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the lovely host, Kirnu, and his family.
The property, though newly built, exuded a sense of tranquility with its lush green surroundings.
One of the highlights of our stay was the communal fireplace in the common room, where guests could gather to unwind and share stories under the starlit sky. The homely-cooked meals offered at a nominal price were a delightful culinary journey, capturing the essence of local flavors.
For nature enthusiasts seeking solace away from the hustle and bustle of city life, the Mudhouse is truly a haven. We cannot recommend it enough for those yearning for a peaceful retreat in nature's embrace.

Tucked away in the mountains, some 5 km from Jibhi, Old is Gold Homestay truly has some of the best views in the region! Our 4 day stay was made all the more lovely by hosts Kiran and his family, who were very gracious and accomodated our requests with a smile. And oh! the home cooked food was just sumptuous, and just the thing we needed after a long day of hiking 🤌🏽 Kiran even hooked us up with good deals for cabs and other stuff. Couldn't have asked for a better stay, and the views will be etched in my mind forever!
