Room 420 was the nicest room so far with a great view and so spacious. I really appreciate the staff and how helpful they are. My daughter always stays here and we will again. Makes Portland feel not quite as anti-social as its become.
Ummm cant think of anything.
The location is great. Walking distance from great spots in downtown. Vibes are real nice there and the ambiance is where it's at.
When I used the steamer it spewed dirty water everywhere. When I dumped the water out there was a lot of black bits i presume to be mold in the water section.
There were some technical issues with the check in process but Lars was extremely helpful with getting me checked in and settled. I really enjoyed the ambience of the place. Would definitely recommend!!

The Clyde Hotel is located close to many of Portland's downtown attractions, including Powell's Books, which was only a couple of blocks away. It is also close to both bus and rail transit lines, some going right by the hotel. The hotel staff were friendly, and the hotel has a quirky ambiance with art work on both the room and hall walls. Check in was entirely automated incorporating the keypad locks on both the hotel door and each room. The price was great for a hotel downtown. Our room had multiple electrical outlets that should meet anyone's needs. The beds were very comfortable with a full complement of four pillows. Tokens for free coffee at the coffee shop next door were provided.
The age of the building and related remodeling caused some limitations. The elevator is small and slow. A sliding "barn door" wood door for our bathroom was hard to open and close. Heating and cooling was provided by a unit mounted next to the ceiling controlled by a thermostat. Unlike many motel/hotel units, there were no separate heating and cooling modules, which led the unit to hunt between putting out cool or hot air, resulting in the wrong temps in the room at times in spite of an appropriate thermostat setting. In addition, the unit's mounting by the ceiling caused it to blow air directly unto one of the two double beds in our double full room. The TV was mounted on a side wall parallel to the beds, which made it hard to view from the beds. In addition, the only other seating in the room were two stools that came with a room table, so they weren't viable for sitting long for a show (but if you're in Portland, why are you in your room watching TV!). Finally, the area where the hotel is located is affected by the unhoused problem Portland is facing, but this would be true of any downtown hotel.
I stayed here from June 25–26. I was charged $250 from my security deposit because housekeeping claimed there was a smell of cannabis in the room. I never smoked inside the unit. I explicitly asked staff where I could smoke and was told to do so outside the front door, which I did.
Kasa refused to provide any evidence of actual smoking inside (e.g. photos, residue, damage). They canceled my future bookings and banned me from staying, despite my efforts to resolve this. I’m now disputing the charge with my bank.
Guests should be aware that even if you follow staff instructions, you may be charged for odors and given no documentation or chance to contest it. Very disappointed with how this was handled.
Amazing location right nearby and in walking distance to great restaurants, shops, bookstore. I felt very safe and at home at Kasa and i loved the cafe downstairs and the photo booth in the lobby. Room very well stocked with everything you need and very comfortable stay.
Most of the hotel enjoyed the comfy stay
Wish there was more of a kitchen like microwave in the room or something of the sort for a way to heat leftovers and other sorts of food.
Great location, loved the decor, was very easy to access on my own
Suite room had only bathtub with high sides.
Not the safest choice for an older guest
