Nice laundry, comfy beds, clean. Food and drink provided plus lots of bathroom amenities. Good communication. Loved this place. Will be back.
I can’t think of anything.
Clean, up to date. Beautiful room. Very responsive. Love the small details like the hair wraps, facial products, bathroom essentials.
The bed was the only downfall. Was so uncomfortable ended up sleeping on the couch and then we left a day early bc of it. Just no sleeping on that bed.
They had everything you might need or want in stock. They had beer in the fridge, coffee and other condiments.
The mattress needs replaced. We sank in the middle of the bed and we felt like eggs in an egg carton.
Cleanliness and quick response to requests.

Location. Facilities. Super clean. Lovely suites that you could live in for months if you wished.
Some TV noise from other rooms.
Nice and roomy.
NOISY!! People were very loud for several hours in the middle of the night. Loud music, screaming, hollering, loud music, stomping etc…
Feels like you are in an urban apartment with the best of the best design and furnishings down to stocked kitchen accessories. Stylish in all the quality ways. Super special place. Loved it!!
Very nice accommodations, super convenient to the Katy trail.
Limited items for breakfast, only eggs, toast and coffee. They had cerel but no milk.
Bed was comfortable, but would have liked a pillow that wasn't so large and firm
Might suggest a sign on the building or in front of it, as it took a little while to figure out if I was at the correct place
Great room. Shower pressure a little soft but oberall great place.
It was a challenge at first to identify the building. The unit was very clean. The kitchen had nice accessories. The bed was uncomfortable. There wasn’t any cream for the coffee. Light switches were confusing. And you could hear the neighbors in other rooms.
Big open space for kitchen n. Clean and new.
Bed mattress was not good. Bowed into the middle.
No place to put your shower items in the claw tub/shower
The room was fantastic and the location was good to explore the surrounding area. We would stay here again.
The room was warm and to access the temperature you had to contact the owners (text, phone....) as you could not adjust it in the room. It was a smart thermostat that was behind a plastic lock cover.
The property was very well decorated and appointed with anything you would need. It was clean and had all sorts of toiletries that you might need, which was a nice bonus. I felt safe walking outside at night with my dog as the area was very quiet.
We booked The Mercantile on the Katy Trail as a last minute, on a whim stay during our family road trip. We couldn't believe how amazing the property was when we arrived. Every detail was thought of, and what an amazing place to stay! It was by far the best place we stayed during our multi-state road trip. Highly recommend to anyone!!!
Beautiful building. Vintage furnishings. Very clean. Lovely extra touches.
Olga was very accommodating and made every effort to make me feel welcome.
Felt a bit remote.
Air conditioning difficult to regulate.
Oven would not heat.
An incredible 5-Star Boutique Hotel experience...Something you are not likely to find in Missouri! The suite was well appointed with original and repro furnishing to match the ambiance of the Vaudeville era. The extra amenities for guests were richly orchestrated for travelers exploring either Hermann or taking a break from the Katy trail. Everything from a refrigerator stocked with water and condiments to a selection of boutique bath soaps and personal cleansers all the way to fresh fruit and even a frozen pizza in the freezer for bike/foot travelers along the trail who might encounter inclement weather and unlikely to proceed into Hermann for provisions during their stay. This sort of ambiance and attention to detail is very rare in accommodations these days and should not be missed!
McKittrick is a couple of miles north of Hermann and across the river from the conveniences of a city. McKittrick is an old Missouri river town so its a bit removed from modernity, however, if you have a vehicle or don't mind the extra distance its super quiet and incredibly relaxing. Additionally, The Mercantile is not staffed and reliant on full electronic access so it has a more AirBnB feel to the guest on-boarding experience.
