Manor was lovely place
Room very very hot only small veltrux window had to stand on chair to open
Very pleasant friendly staff
We stayed in main part of hotel. The room was big. Bathroom had a wet floor shower. Bed was comfortable. The setting is lovely with the lake as well. The manor had great character and alot of the old features. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very nice and good value for money. Staff where very friendly and helpful.
Drive was 8 minutes to the long stay carpark.
Would stay here again .
There was nothing not to like about this stay.

Absolutely appalling experience from start to finish.
The road to the hotel was closed, yet there was no warning whatsoever during the booking process or in any pre-arrival communication. This created significant inconvenience and stress before we had even checked in.
What made the situation even worse was the attitude of the staff. When I explained the problem, they appeared to find it amusing rather than showing any concern or offering assistance. Their lack of professionalism and empathy was shocking.
My girlfriend is disabled, which made the unexpected road closure far more than a minor inconvenience. Had we been informed in advance, we could have planned accordingly. Instead, we were left struggling to access the hotel and dealing with unnecessary stress that could easily have been avoided.
The stay itself was no better. There was loud noise throughout the night, making it almost impossible to sleep. Between the access issues, dismissive staff, and constant disturbance, this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we have had.
I would strongly advise others to think carefully before booking here. Basic communication, accessibility awareness, and customer service were completely lacking.

It was cozy, clean, kind staff! Had everything we needed and was very close to the Stansted airport - at night, we booked a taxi right at the airport for 22 € and it took 10 mins to the hotel, at day we took a bus which is a 10 min walk away and a half and hour drive to the airport.
The room was nice, it had an ironing board, a kettle and all the shower essentials. If you are a light sleeper the room has earplugs in drawers, since airplanes can be very loud.
But the place is incredible!! Breakfast had tons of options - traditional english, gluten free, vegan, ... The geese and rabbits outsite were just the cutest, the outsite is just so beautiful, we really loved taking a walk.
Also if you're staying longer they have fun brunch events like drag or abba!!
The only thing I would say is that it can obviously get loud because of planes, that is of course not their fault and of course the airtport is a big reason some guests book here, so I had no complaints!
Proximity to airport (London Stansted).
Stayed during a spell of very hot weather and did not appreciate being placed in a first floor room, instead of the cooler ground floor ones.
Did not enjoy being in a room that, despite being directly under the flight path of London Stansted airport, had very poor soundproofing (actually totally non-existent !).
Loved everything , staff so helpful and friendly. Food was amazing. Had good night sleep .

Wij arriveerden rond 21:00 uur, en de bar sloot om 21:30 uur, dus helaas weinig gebruik van kunnen maken.
Very friendly staff, great location near Stansted airport. Decent food
Under the flight oath at end of runway. One block of rooms is on the other side of a fast country lane which feels isolated and a bit creepy!
Stayed for one night to fly from Stansted next morning. Very impressed from the first. It’s ideally located and such a lovely property. Immaculately clean in the public areas and our room was great.
We ate in the restaurant and it was really good food.
I have to say the noise of the planes overhead. But we booked knowing how it would be. Did not detract from a really good stay.
The room was small and basic. I used earplugs so the airplane noise didn't bother me. It was a good price for what I needed, which was a comfortable bed a short distance from the airport. I arrived late and left early, so didn't have breakfast there.
