This was very good value for a well-maintained, comfortable and stylish hotel, with spacious rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I had a nice dinner in the restaurant.
Inevitably there is some aircraft noise given its proximity to Stansted, but also some noise from guests in neighbouring rooms getting up in the small hours for early morning flights. The extractor fan in the bathroom was also noisy!
Not the hotel's fault, but worth knowing for guests coming to/from the airport without a car - taxi fares for the short journey to/from Stansted are sky high. The hotel's Booking.com entry leads with 'just a 5-minute journey' from the airport, but Uber and Bolt were both quoting £38+ when I arrived at the airport! It took me 3 phone calls to local firms to establish that the cheapest option is the taxi concession inside the airport because they don't have to pay the airport's pickup/dropoff fees, but it still costs £19 one-way.

Toilet in the bathroom was quite narrow, cleanliness of the bathroom could've been better, outside of the sink had toothpaste on it, also could see toothpaste splatter on the floor. It was a small bathroom so it was easy to spot this. I'd suggest installing some kind of door stop in the bathroom, instead of the door just making a hole in the ceiling? It is right at the end of runway so if you want peace don't book this one.

Plenty of car parking space. Attractive buiding and grounds. Very pleasant staff.
Not as good as our previous stay. The room was across the road from the hotel- due to refurbishment of rooms but we were not informed of this when booking.
Previously the breakfast was waiter service and eggs cooked to order . This time it was a precooked buffet and only scrambled eggs available. No choice of bread for toast- only white. Limited fruit selection- apple or orange

Massive investment in the refurb shows at every turn and the staff are all amazing.
Be aware this is at the end of Stansted Airport runway! I have included my videos to show proximity and to hopefully deter any imbeciles from booking here because it’s close to the airport and then moaning the planes were loud 😝🤪🤣

Better lighting needed for crossing the road to get to annexe opposite.
The property was lovely the room in the main house was quite dated and bathroom was a bit grubby. Mould spots and no hot water.

Many have mentioned the noise of doors closing etc. I can sleep through anything, so it didn’t keep me awake, but it might disturb others. Plus planes right overhead - but it is only a mile from the airport, so hardly a surprise!

The location is convenient and close to my workplace. The staff are friendly and always helpful, and the gentleman at the front desk truly goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The room is cozy and comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day at work.
