Our experience staying with Laurent at Bukit Cottage was truly magnifique.
Laurent and his housekeeper, Femi, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, relaxing, and genuinely wholesome. The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and very well equipped.
The most delightful surprise was discovering that our bedroom and lounge area were completely open to nature. It honestly felt like sleeping in the clouds, surrounded by jungle, with breathtaking views in every direction. The cool, refreshing breezes kept everything perfectly comfortable, and the space was decorated tastefully with beautiful artwork and photography.
The peace and tranquillity were exactly what we needed after the hustle and buzz of Bali. We stayed for three nights but could very easily have stayed a full week.
The food was delicious, and sharing dinners around the table with Laurent, enjoying meaningful conversations and stories, became a highlight of each day. The pool was clean and incredibly refreshing, adding another layer of enjoyment to an already special stay.
Bukit Cottage is a rare and special place, and Laurent and Femi made it unforgettable

El alojamiento es excepcional. Es una casa grande y preciosa en medio de la selva. Con vistas excepcionales. Para bien y para mal, estás aislado. Nuestra vivencia personal fue muy buena porque estuvimos una noche y como experiencia es inolvidable. El propietario soluciona todas tus necesidades pero, al mismo tiempo, eres cautivo de él y los condicionantes de la ubicación. Es un personaje cordial y ofrece buenas charlas y experiencias, pero en una estancia más larga, probablemente, hubiera sido excesivo.

The house is very open so you hear everything around you. Starting with animals and insects (which creates a very charming atmosphere) but also neighbors and housemates. If you don't mind it, it can create a great atmosphere - but do not expect an ordinary hotel room.
This is a once in a lifetime type of accomodation. The house is a real piece of art, open to the jungle. Everything is made and designed in very good taste, yet combained with pure nature. The house is very charming and romantic and the views are crazy. We were there for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and had the best time. Yet, it is important to keep in mind that the house is not vey private because the way it is designed, but it is part of the magic. Take at least 3-4 nights for your stay here. There is a lot to see and to experience. Laurent is a very cool guy and a great host. Thank you!
There are no walk paths around the house. Make sure to rent a motorbike from Labuan Bajo in advance so you can maximaize your trip. The area is incredible and there is a lot to see and it is very easy to drive around. However, it might be difficult to find a motorbike if you didn't take care of it in advance. Make sure to get one from Labuan or to ask the owner in advance to rent you one.
Such an amazing location with great views and peaceful vibes. The new starlink internet was great and fast. Laurent was a great host and provided great recommendations and conversations.
The building has no windows which gives the place a great open vibe but does let in some insects.

Laurent is very helpful and good company. His house is beautiful, a peaceful environment to rest and relax. Laurent cooked us nice dinners, and had dinners with us.
We had an amazing time staying with Laurent. The house is beautiful and very well decorated, with an incredible open view across the jungle especially the amazing sunsets. We could wake up to the sound of the birds singing in the morning and it's the perfect place to just rest and read in the middle of nature.
Laurent made us some lovely food for lunch and dinner including an incredible fish soup and the pancakes for breakfast were exceptional!
Nothing to complain about and we would definitely come back again. He said they will have WiFi later this year, but actually it's the perfect place to digital detox....just make sure you bring some books! He can arrange day trips to waterfalls etc., but we chose to just relax at the house. There are lots of comfy places to sit or lie around.
Recommend to use Laurent's driver for transfer as the approach road is a little tricky but no issue for his driver (there are plans to pave the road ).

This property definitely exceeded my expectations! The views is absolutely stunning! The owner Laurens is very welcoming and offers a great insight into the local life.
If you’re looking for a quiet and remote place then this is the right hotel.
The room upstairs is open which gives a great view but it’s also humid inside. I think that’s the only downside

It had rained before so the road was quite tough to get there. We went on motorbike, it was doable but difficult.
Borrowing the phrase from In Praise of Shadow by Junichiro Tanizaki, this is place of spiritual repose. Only basic and essential amenities but 10/10 if you know what you are getting into. We enjoyed conversation with Pak Ansel on the surrounding areas, the people and the culture. Would recommend longer stay here.
