It was basic, clean and comfortable
It was dated, but that didn’t impact on the comfort of our stay there.

Un excellent rapport qualité / prix, un personnel très sympathique et une situation parfaite dans Cat Ba.
L'hôtel est peut être sonore dû à sa construction et son positionnement en bord de route. J'aurais apprécié un mini bar, ou au moins, des bouteilles d'eau dans la chambre à l'arrivée.
Very nice family-run homestay hosted by a soft-spoken man who does everything!
The location is perfect if you're looking for a quiet area. It's a 10-15min walk to the center.
Our room was big and clean with a good view of the lake. No complaints about the bathroom.
Breakfast is basic but with home-cooked meals if you want to stay in for lunch or dinner.

L’hôtel est bien situé, tout juste en retrait de la place la plus populaire de la ville ce qui permet un peu de calme en soirée. Le propriétaire est très disponible et nous a aidé à organiser une visite éclair du parc national alors qu’on pensait devoir oublié l’idée.

The gentleman on the desk was extremely helpful. The hotel was just out of the way of the main strip so we avoided all the awful contriction noise. The rooms were clean and we were able to hire good bikes and arrange sleeper buses for out next stop.
The breakfast menu was very limited.
The host Victor Is the best i Met so far in Vietnam and the location Is great.
Everything, from the beginning to the end, was perfect. Victor helped us plan our days in Cat Ba, and organized a trip for the same afternoon we arrived. He also helped us with the transfer from Hanoi to Cat Ba. At the very last moment, after our check out time, we asked if it was possible to have a shower and he allowed us to freshen up in the ground floor toilette, which is definitely a life saver after a 4-hour hike. He kindly gave us a couple of extra towels. I’d say Victor and the rest of the staff made our stay special.
The breakfast was delicious, too. My partner swears he has never eaten a better vegetables omelette before.
There is nothing we could complain about.
