Great stop over en route to the Flinders, friendly Melrose at foot of Mt Remarkable.
Pros:

Excellent breakfast options at the cafe next door, which opened at 8am (December).

Cons:

Shower head was fixed and sprayed the floor a little round the shower tray.

Pros:

Very nice and interesting hotel landlord who also turned out to be a walking encyclopedia on all worldly topics. The grub was good and plentiful and the motel rooms had what was required.

Cons:

Mt. Remarkable Park was closed due to pest control actions, but that was hardly the fault of the hotel...

Bed was squeaky and mattress was uncomfortable no milk for coffee could only get channels 10 and 7 shower leaked from bottom of glass sometimes could smell sewage in room fridge froze stuff

Pros:

Basic old school motel songs behind country pub. Pub had great food and atmosphere looking out on Mt Remarkable. Publican added personality and engaged with travellers

Good value for a room giving us what we needed for an overnight stay.
Pros:

Great location for accessing Mt Remarkable, Alligator Gorge etc. The motel offers rooms with basic facilities, and was what we expected. The bathroom has been renovated relatively recently and was very pleasant and clean. Luke was really helpful, doing all he could to make sure we were comfortable.
