Anna Villas by Sumba-Beach

We stayed at Anna Villas for 6 beautiful days, it was a perfect holiday in breathing nature away from all the noise, the energy of the place was great, no pollution with fresh air, everyone from the owners to the staff were super helpful and friendly and catered for all our requests, we felt like we were taken care of like family.

The villa was very clean, food was very tasty, beach is so close, we walked around and explored areas near by, was so peaceful and lovely, they grow some fruits and vegetables and you can also see some animals like horses, turtles, goats and cows.

Definitely recommend Anna Villa for anyone who is looking to escape the noise and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful nature.

Le lieu est vraiment serein et propice au repos.
La faune (buffles, chevaux) est incroyable et la plage est immense. Les petits-déjeuners sont copieux.
Bref, pas assez de temps sur place malheureusement… mais nous y reviendrons prochainement !

J’ai adoré le lieu, beaucoup plus authentique que le sud de l’île, qui s’oriente malheureusement vers une ambiance type Bali (Canggu).
La propriété est immense : nous avons aperçu des buffles sauvages et beaucoup de chevaux.
Le personnel est vraiment à l’écoute.
Nous avons particulièrement aimé le fait qu’ils soient tous issus des villages voisins et qu’ils aient été formés sur place.
Toutes les villas sont autonomes en énergie, uniquement grâce au solaire, ce qui m’a vraiment bluffé.
En bref, une expérience intéressante, loin de tout et de la foule. Nous avons même prolongé notre séjour de deux jours supplémentaires.

Anna villa est un très beau lieu ! J’y ai fait une courte escale mais je n’ai rien à redire. La villa est très jolie, la piscine fait face à la mer et la literie est extrêmement confortable. Toute l’équipe était aux petits soins et ils m’ont organisé en dernière minute une balade dans les rizières environnantes à 15mn environ de l’hôtel, c’était magique. J’avais réservé un séjour très court car je pensais qu’il n’y avait pas de points d’intérêt à proximité mais je me suis rendu compte en parlant avec l’équipe que c’est faux, Sumba Tengah regorge de lieux magnifiques mais il faut les connaître. Je recommande !

The staff is some of the best people! We had a lovely stay thanks to Eka and all the team that always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

We truly loved our short stay at this hotel and only wish we could have stayed longer. The location might feel remote at first, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. Sumba is still wild and untouched, and that’s part of its magic. The property is vast, the beach is completely deserted, and the surrounding nature is breathtaking.

We loved watching the animals roaming freely, buffaloes, goats around the pool, and even horses. The beach isn’t your typical postcard beach, but it’s unique and beautiful, with white sand, cacti, and trees that create a very special atmosphere.

The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and we really value the owners’ choice to hire local people.
The food was delicious and homely, and the villas were stunning, spotless, and perfectly equipped.

I don’t think this place would suit guests who are very young or looking for parties. It’s truly a place for rest, peace, and deep connection with nature.

My girlfriend and I booked 4 nights originally, however we decided to depart after 2 nights without a refund. The owner (Jean) was somewhat understanding and provided free transportation to and from the location.

The villas are visually appealing for photos such as Instagram or other social media.

The food was good but on the last day I had heavy diarrhoea.

Free snorkelling gear is provided, however we didn’t use it.

The beach is yours basically, since it‘s super empty. The wooden villa looks stunning and beautiful, the staffs were really nice to us and very accomodating!

Wir waren 4 Nächte in der Unterkunft und uns hat vor allem die Ruhe unfassbar gefallen. Wir hatten den Strand oft ganz für uns alleine. Die Unterkunft stellt einem Strandliegen sowie SUPs zur Verfügung, die wir auch gerne genutzt haben. Ausserdem stehen Wasserschuhe (wegen den Steinen im meer) sowie schnorchelsachen zur Verfügung. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht.

Very nice location, just by the beach. We had a villa with a private pool. Very nicely decorated, beds were very good quality, the food was too, the staff and the owner were all very professional and friendly, we had the best time, and I can only highly recommend this place if you visit Sumba !!

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und immer bemüht den Aufenthalt entspannt für den Gast zu gestalten.
Die Anlage ist liebevoll gestaltet, naturbelassen und ein Ort der Entspannung.
Besonders wurde auch auf Nachhaltigkeit geachtet und der Betrieb ist durch Photovoltaikanlagen und mit eigenem Gemüsegarten.
Das Essen war täglich ein Traum.

We had a wonderful time at this exceptional eco-resort. We stayed for four nights, but we wished we could have stayed longer. From the moment of arrival, all throughout our stay and right up to our departure, we were exceedingly well-treated by all the staff at Anna Villas. They staff make this the special place it is: they were welcoming, friendly and kind, and provide amazing service. This is a fantastic place to really chill out and get close to nature. We saw wild horses and buffalo, and enjoyed watching glorious sunsets and looking up to see the stars at night. There is an incredible beach, which we had almost entirely to ourselves, most of the time. We relaxed, and went swimming and snorkelling to see the incredible coral reefs. We stayed in the Villa Paul area, which had a fantastic shared pool and well-designed communal area, which was a great place to hang out. Inside, the private villa was beautifully decorated with lovely furniture and facilities. We ate all our meals at Anna Villas and we were really happy with everything we had to eat and drink. They accommodated vegetarians very well. It's possible to organise trips and other activities at Anna Villas. We chose to have a Sumbanese massage, with traditional local oils, which was fantastic. Overall, this was a magical stay, which we will never forget.

The stay was perfect. Starting by the food which was incredible delicious, over to an amazing staff which were super kind, carrying and attention to the customers needs. The place itself is very quite and very unique. We absolutely recommend this place to everyone.

This place on Sumba is truly unlike anywhere else I have ever been. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat on a remote island with incredibly kind locals, this is the perfect spot. Secluded does not mean lacking in service—the host made sure everything was well provided. Delicious breakfasts are served by the friendly staff, and you can also order lunches and dinners to your villa, all of which are of excellent quality.

The island itself has surprisingly good roads, so you can rent a practically new scooter on-site and enjoy exploring the entire island while taking in stunning views. The host is exceptionally warm and makes you feel at home from the very first moment. And if you still need to work while away, each villa is equipped with reliable Wi-Fi.

A hidden gem on a hidden island—I can’t recommend it enough.

Anna villa est l’endroit parfait pour décompresser, prendre du temps pour soi et s’émerveiller des paysages de Sumba. Le sunset est juste incroyable. Au delà de la beauté de l’endroit et du confort, le propriétaire Jean Noël est toujours disponible pour vous conseiller et rendre votre séjour inoubliable. C’est une personne inspirante et incroyablement bienveillant. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la qualité des repas que vous pouvez prendre à votre choix au restaurant en bord de mer ou dans votre villa. Les sites de Sumba sont un peu éloignés mais valent le détour ! Nous recommandons chaleureusement ce lieu exceptionnel et nous avons hâte de revenir !
