Pros:

Nice stay at a beautiful beach. Simple rooms, but location is why you are there.
The staff is super friendly and the food amazing! Love the breakfast we got served in the morning.

Pros:

Beach front ONLY and staff were friendly especially Samir

Cons:

Unmaintained, dirty, no facilities in the room, very old towels and sheets, water interruptions, nothing free like drinking water, tea or coffee. No vault/safe, no TV, no fridge .. very overrated.not event fitted to be 2 stars. Over priced and manipulation with currency exchange rate

Pros:

Die Lage ist einfach ein Traum. Der Strandbereich wirklich toll gestaltet. Die jungen Männer haben das alte Hotel jetzt in der ersten Saison übernommen und in den Strand investiert. Man kann dort den Tag verbringen und genießen. Das Essen ist wirklich lecker und günstiger als die anderen Restaurants in direkter Strandlage. Abends werden die Tische direkt ans Wasser gestellt. Auch die Cocktails sind großartig. Den Passionfruit Cocktail aus frischer Frucht muss man probiert haben. Man kann viele weitere Restaurants erreichen, wenn man das möchte und ein toller außergewöhnlicher Souvenirshop mit echtem Kunsthandwerk ist direkt die Straße runter, der Krokodilteich und die Lagune auch nicht weit. Den Strand runter gibt es viele Tauchschulen und Schnorcheltouranbieter.
Zurück zum Happy Beach. Wir haben die jungen Männer als herzlich und freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend erlebt. Mit unseren Kindern waren sie ebenfalls toll. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Cons:

Die Zimmer sind sehr einfach und in die Jahre gekommen. Uns war das egal. Der Preis ist für die direkte Strandlage und den teureren Strand in Ordnung. Man ist eh den ganzen Tag draußen. Unser Zimmer war sauber. Ich gehe davon aus, dass die Kreativität des Strandes auch in den Zimmern und im Eingangsbereich nach und nach Einzug halten wird. Es wird sicherlich keine Luxusunterkunft aber für Familien, Tauchsportler, junge und jungebliebene Reisende kann es eine der besten Unterkünfte am Strand werden, die man sich auch noch leisten kann.

Ein Grundstück mit riesigem Potenzial.
Pros:

Der Strandbereich ist schön, grosszügig und gepflegt. An der Strandbar gibt es gute Fruchtsäfte, Milkshakes und Frucht-Lassis. Wenn Sano, der Inhaber bedient, ist die Chance gut, dass du deine Bestellung auch innerhalb einer vernünftigen Frist bekommst. Die Küche orientiert sich absolut am englischen und holländischen Geschmack. Das Personal besteht aus netten jungen Männern, die kaum englisch verstehen, sich aber Mühe geben.
Wohnanlage; Die Toiletten und die Klimaanlagen funktionieren. Wasser fliest aus der Dusche, die Türe lässt sich schliessen, die Bettwäsche wird gewaschen.

Cons:

Der Wohnbereich der Anlage befindet sich im Zerfallsstadium. An der Farbe und dem Geruch der Matratzen zu urteilen, wird in sie schon gut dreissig Jahre lang gepisst, gekotzt und menstruiert. Defekte Einrichtungen, wie Lampen und Ablagen im Badezimmer werden nicht repariert oder erneuert. Die Installationen sind amateurhaft ausgeführt. Wenn du sonst im Club Méditerranée deine Ferien verbringst, mache einen Bogen im diese Anlage. Mit gereinigt, wird Besenrein gemeint.

Pros:

This place is about the location. A fantastic beach and you are in the middle of it. Barefoot stay. The ambiance at the beach and the restaurant is very chilled. Relaxing at its best. That is what we came for and that is what we got. Breakfast was delicious. Good fruit juices.

Cons:

The rooms are very simple, but we needed them only to sleep. The restaurant is expensive compared to others at the beach.

The location was perfect. Right on the beach.
The guy that had only been working there for about a week was really friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was 1 positive of our stay. Very tasty pancakes, roti, Dahl.
This place has so much potential🙂

Cons:

The rooms were very basic. No water, tea or coffee supplied. Just a couple of beds in a run down room. The shower had hair still in the drain. Considering the cost we paid it was very overpriced. They asked us to share a room on the last night with the couple we were traveling with as they were overbooked. Then complained we didn't eat or drink at their restaurant. The prices were ridiculous compared to some of the other places along the beach.

Pros:

This place is all about location: right on the beach. There is a restaurant area at the beach and a hotel area right behind it. The restaurant is nice - if you don't mind waiting - but the rooms are truly awful: poorly maintained and dirty.

Cons:

The price/quality is way out of balance: the rooms are far too expensive for what they offer. The room is large but poorly maintained and dirty - especially the bathroom - and there are bedbugs, ants, and roaches in the room. Such a pity, because it could be a really nice setup.

Pros:

The big plus is the very nice staff and the beach. Staff members were really super nice and helpful. And the beach - wow!!! very clean with good spots for shade and crystal blue water.
Breakfast was good and a lot, and juices were amazing.

Cons:

Rooms were spacious, but not very clean (sheets and towels had a lot of stains. Not all of the lamps worked and you have to keep the curtains closed, if you don‘t want anyone who crosses by to look inside - so the rooms are really dark. A cable was hanging out of the walls - looked dangerous. I was staying in hotels with different price classes in Sri Lanka and this was the most expensive and the rooms were the worst of our whole journey. The value for money was not ok.

Happiness on the beautiful beach
Pros:

The guys at Happy Beach are creating something fun with love and enthusiasm on the beach. The location is outstanding if you want to walk 30 seconds from your bedroom into the ocean!!! Good value, simple accommodation especially for families like us, tasty food at sensible prices for the location, huge breakfast with western and Asian style food and happy vibes from sunrise to sunset and beyond!

Do not come here expecting a luxury or glamorous hotel, this place is all about the location and happiness. Rooms are basic but enough for your stay. Any issues, they will sort it out. They are in their second season and still learning so go and visit and let them know what you think...

Cons:

We only stayed three nights which was not enough!!! :)

Favorite beach in Sri Lanka
Pros:

The room is right next to the beach, so we could swim in the sea anytime we wanted. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they clean the beach regularly, which keeps it nice and tidy. The food is also good. It’s just a 5-minute walk to Divinguru, where we booked our whale watching and snorkeling trips to Pigeon Island. We enjoyed every sunrise and sunset here.
