Very nice comfortable central hotel.
Pros:

Comfortable hotel. Was able to check in early. Room was really comfortable. En suite was a little small but really good shower. Comfortable bed.

Cons:

Slightly awkward to get into bathroom as toilet was behind the door. Door squeaked so slightly annoying at night. Only one hook behind door for towels.

Pros:

Hotel was ideally situated for wandering around The Shambles. Building was beautiful and quirky. Old, traditional style with a quirky twist

A very welcoming, comfortable, dependable; original hotel very well located in York
Pros:

This hotel is around 12 minutes brisk walk with baggage from York train station, over the bridge / river and in the highly attractive central York area; in the midst of the key areas of restaurants, bars, shops, cafes of central York. A very comfortable top floor, quirky style compact room in an original / traditional style; stairs only for some exercise this hotel. Very friendly, welcoming staff; okay to find in the location and with a very excellent included breakfast, hot and in the very comfortable environment of the downstairs restaurant area-with prompt service, all very relaxed. Luggage storage also very helpful.

Cons:

The toilet, shower facility were smaller, the shower cubicle was basic / some maintenance needed.

Voortreffelijk hotel voor een romantisch verblijf in hartje York!
Pros:

Ondanks dat het hotel in een van de drukste winkelstraten van York ligt, heb je daar totaal geen last van qua geluid. Het personeel is allervriendelijkst en de inrichting is typisch Brits.

Cons:

Kleine dingen zoals een plank op de badkamer waar je je toilettas op kwijt kunt en de aanwezigheid van een haarfohn.

Brilliant hotel
Pros:

The hotel was in a brilliant spot easy to get to from the train station. The food and the staff was first class which made our stay brilliant I love the place.

Cons:

The only minor point was our toilet it wasn't the biggest as I am quite big. Struggle to get on it. But take nothing away from the hotel stay it was lovely.

Unique independent hotel in a superb location.
Pros:

Beautiful building with lots of original features. Quirky, cosy and unique.

Cons:

Our mattress was uncomfortable and I didn’t sleep well. Needs replacing (room 3).
