Excellent location and easy walking distance to all the sights of interest, restaurants and bars. Breakfast was cooked to order and really good selection.
Room was very comfortable and clean.
A couple of hooks in the bathroom too hang towels and a mirror in the bedroom as well as the bathroom . Although the staff did find me a second when I raised it with them.
Lovely little hotel right in the heart of town. Staff were fantastic, Rose in particular was incredibly helpful.
Amazing breakfast too!!
Worth bearing in mind, parking is a ten minute walk away, but understandable considering the v central location.

Bar shut at 10pm and too hot in room. No soap in bathroom to wash hands
The staff were friendly and attentive. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable about York and are approachable. Don't be afraid to ask.The food was of a high standard. Breakfast was included and probably the best I've ever had. The eggs Benedict should be recommended. The location is one of the best near the Cathedral and the Shambles . The rooms are very clean and bathrooms have everything you'd need . Tea and coffee making facilities are in rooms. Well stocked.
Unfortunately, due to the extreme heat, our room was stiffling. A fan was supplied but as it's a beautiful Georgian building, the sash windows are fixed solid allowing no airflow so it was overbearing when trying to sleep. I should imagine in normal conditions, it would be fine. The wife had one little issue. Mirrors in the room but no sockets near to dry her hair but that's being picky.
It was quirky.
The room had a small window with no blind. It was shabby. Not enough towels or a bath mat.

Great breakfast & best location for all the bars, sights etc. Room was spotlessly clean and great shower.
No fault of the hotel, but due to really hot weather had to keep window open so sleep was disturbed by late night revellers and early morning activity; delivery vans, bin wagons etc.

Mattress in our room was uncomfortable
Zeer vriendelijk, geweldige locatie in het centrum met korting op nabijgelegen parking. Heel hondvriendelijk met een eigen kussen, voorbakken en een kleine traktatie voor de hond. Ook een pluspunt is dat er waterflesjes, koffie en thee was. Heerlijk ontbijt!
Kamer was vrij klein maar wel gezellig. Ook wat warm op de kamer. Geen lift

The room was tiny and the bathroom even smaller. The window didnt open so no fresh air
Breakfast is limited, no fresh fruit, cereal (only granola) or smoked salmon

Chose the wrong room totally my fault
5-10 min walk from station, (turn left and walk over the bridge to Minster walk up past Guy Fawkes pub it's on the left, quick check in although I was on the very top floor of the Lodge it was comfortable and clean, the breakfasts were huge and made to order staff were very friendly always smiling Galtres was close to every attraction walking everywhere was easy - I have stayed there before but many years ago
Thick duvet on bed as it was very hot but slept ontop with throw over so easily sorted and no I didn't mention it, it just seemed too trivial - bathroom a bit small but adequate for a solo guest
We stayed there for 1night for my birthday lovely hotel very central bedroom small but clean and comfortable, tea and coffee supplied in rooms ,staff very friendly breakfast was excellent,a nice surprise when I was given a plate of sweets with happy birthday written on plate will definitely be staying there again
