We’re super excited to share that we’re having a bit of a makeover. Between 5 August 2024 and 28 October 2024, 15 of our bedrooms will be closed for refurbishments. Lovely cosy room in a great location
Pros:

Lovely, clean and cosy rooms. Loved that it was inside a pub, which was handy for grabbing food/a drink but also so so quiet in the room that you wouldn't even know it was a pub.

The location was great too

Lovely stay for concert at Brixton academy - it was perfect managed to get a free parking spot. It was really good value
Pros:

The pub and grounds were lovely - lovely clean rooms

Cons:

Personal preference as I hate shower curtains. Stair case looked a little rough but didn’t effect the stay or the rooms.

It was just what we needed and we will return.
Pros:

Great location on the common for walks and tubes.
Personal touches in room - books, not mass produced furniture, interesting paintings of local scenes.

Cons:

Hotel Stairwell needs some decorating maintenance. The first impression going up to the room is peeling wallpaper and paint. It’s such a shame because the rooms are beautiful inside and so is the rest of the place.

Nice rooms
Pros:

Room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Separate bath/shower and shower clean with decent pressure. Decoration in the room was good as well.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was nicely cooked.
The location is a short walk from Clapham Common underground station ( watch out for joggers!)
Refreshments in the room were well stocked.

Cons:

The internal corridors look a bit worse for wear (but not the rooms)
The food in the restaurant was pricey but it is London and there's plenty of alternatives.

Pros:

When I booked my stay, I booked the night before my arrival by mistake, and didn't realise until I received my no show receipt of payment but when I contacted Jade at reception there was no problem and I was offered a room for that night without an extra cost. It would of been very easy for them to say, tough luck, and charge me, so Thanks Jade and staff. The hotel itself is very welcoming and comfortable. I'll be staying here next time I visit Clapham.
