Great location in old town. Rooftop bar with live music. Friendly staff. Good breakfast (especially crepes).Very clean and secure Very close to tram (Ismetpasa stop closest to walk) for airport and easy to scan travel or credit card to board or old tram to Koonyarti.Lovely restaurant with stunning views across from hotel front entrance.
Our room had no mini fridge to keep drinks or snacks cool.
Locations was minutes away from the water, view from roof top cafe was superb, had a good breakfast. Staff was kind and tending to our needs. Our room was clean and spacious.
Little things in the kitchen were missing. We were a family with young adult kids and we wanted to cook at home a few nights. We were told to ask for whatever we needed, so on cooking day we made a list and they did get everything for us, and they did it with pleasure. The only thing missing was a good iron, the ironing board was provided but the iron needed repair.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable, with up to date fixtures and a high-quality mattress and linens. The top floor terrace provides a wonderful view of the bay. It is right in old town, for easy exploration on foot. The staff were friendly and helpful, even helping us find the likely location of a photo taken over 50 years ago. The level of English among the staff is pretty limited, but at least some were adept at using translation on their cell phones.
Not all rooms have large windows or views. Ours certainly did not. We were staying for one night between other cities, and had our own car. The driving and parking situation was really challenging. If you do come with your own car, definitely contact the hotel for details before arrival. Better yet, use taxis or other transportation services.
The hotel is in a perfect location just off one of the main shopping streets but doesn't have all the noise you would expect.
All the staff were fantastic, they just couldn't do enough to make your stay perfect.
The apartment we were in was on the first floor (of three floors) the apartment was lovely, very well laid out, looked almost new, lots of light through the windows and a door onto a Hugh terrace.
From the top terrace you looked down towards the sea and the lovely mountains in the distance.
Breakfast was included which was a basic choice of cheeses, vegetables and meat and fruit and omelettes or scrambled eggs. It was actually very nice.
The hotel also has a covered chill out area to the side with the roof terrace being set up with tables and chairs and a roof bar.
There was nothing we didn't like, but we said the only thing was there was nowhere to sit outside on a sunbed with umbrella to chill out or enjoy the sun. To do that you had to go down to the beach, it was not possible on the roof terrace because of the bar, tables and chairs.
It would have been possible if the room terraces had sunbeds on there, but there weren't any.
Overall I would recommend the Royal Hayat to use as a base for exploring the old town which is amazing.
Thanks to all the staff for a lovely week.
Check In very easy and welcoming. Our suite was large and very clean. Ensuite shower rooms and dressing areas. Lounge, kitchen with island and balcony. Kitchen has limited utensils, wasn't a problem for us as ate out. Fridge and dishwasher. Shower pressure occasionally low and slippery when wet. Breakfast consisted Eggs cooked to your liking, meats, salad, bread, chips, fruit, condiments, tea, coffee, served outside at the front and side of the property. Plenty of shade offered. Has a roof top bar great for watching the sunset. Ideally located in the old town, plenty of restaurants. Mermerli Beach was closed for works. Short walk away a sun platform with restaurant and showers and toilet - no beach but access into sea for cooling off - 400 Lira per person. Overall a very pleasant stay, staff very friendly
Very spacious, all is new and the best view in town. Big terrace… big rooms.
There was a bit of noise from the roof bar.
We would suggest to put a drying rack on the terrace to hang your wet swimming ware and beach towels.
Good variety for breakfast with eggs made to order
The suite was a good size for 5 people and the best thing about this hotel was the view. Location was also convenient as it was near the city centre. 3/4 nights, it was quiet and peaceful to sleep in. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We had a lot of issues with our room, but they were apologetic and would action a plan to fix the issues right away.
The facilties weren't great. The toilet or bidet kept leaking the whole time we were there. We were told someone was going to take a look at it, but it didn't make any difference. Spent the 4 nights with towels on the floor so we didn't slip or step on water. Water from the shower head wasn't working, kept going from hot to cold, and most times it was cold. WiFi wasn't working very well, and we had to keep asking them to restart the router every day. They provide you with a WhatsApp number to call for any issues, but as we were on the top floor, which was 3 flights of stairs and no lift to use, it was an inconvenience having to go up and down to ask them to reset wifi, or to tell them about any issues. On the first night, the radiator in the bathroom was so hot that it made it feel like a sauna; it didn't get resolved until the second night. Water should be free for residents of the hotel, but they weren't. We arrived on a Saturday, which also happened to fall on the day they were hosting a live music event. We were told it would be on from 21:00-00:00, but it went on until 1am. We couldn't sleep as it was being held on the rooftop terrace, which is right above our rooms, we could hear all the music and chairs being scraped above us. Eventually we got annoyed, as we had to go up and ask how long it was going to go on for to which they replied 1am and apologised. Walls were thin, and as I myself was sleeping on the sofa bed, I could hear all the music and voices outside most of the night. There should've been two sofa beds, but one was broken. So, sleeping on one sofa bed wasn't very comfortable as it wasn't big enough for me to stretch my legs. I had to add a chair on the end to give myself some leg room. There were also two dirty socks under the sofa bed.
The service was awesome. The manager was super helpful. She extended our checkout beyond typical curtesy. She recommended some facials etc. for my wife and daughter which were very good. All the guys work there were very courteous and helpful.
They have a beautiful rooftop with a great ocean view. The location is perfect by ocean and all the restaurants and sights.
We liked everything. I’d recommend the hotel to serve breakfast at the rooftop. It’d be super. But, you can take your breakfast to the rooftop if you want.
I have just returned to UK after two fantastic weeks here.
From start to finish of my stay in the Royal Hayat I was made to feel really happy. I stayed in the Junior Suite with Terrace and found the facility to be excellent. The room came with a free breakfast that was excellent.
The roof terrace offers fantastic views of the sparkling sea, rugged coastline and distant mountains, a view that I will remember for the rest of my life; truly unrivalled in my opinion. And what more can you ask for than to be relaxing watching the spectacular sunset over the mountains, and drinking a fantastic draught Guinness. Unbelievable.
And finally, real friends made from owners and staff was truly amazing.
Every member of staff really were amazing in how they gave me a lovely relaxing time: in particular Denis, Denis, Andrey and Tuma.
I will certainly going back to this hotel!
I had nothing to dislike.
