Mzia has been one of the most memorable hosts I’ve ever encountered. She really is special, although we spent only one morning together, over breakfast she enchanted us with all stories from her life. And the breakfast! What a memorable meal, the only regret is that we booked too late to have dinner too with her!
Mzia est une hôte formidable - chaleureuse, intéressante et une excellence cuisinière. Nous nous sommes régalé et avons adoré la discussion au petit déjeuner.
Mzia is such an amazing host, we spent hours talking to her and wandering through her magnificent garden. We were served insanely delicious food and experienced real Georgian hospitality.
Really nothing, it was exceptional.
Extremely charming. The hosts are so kind and make you feel at home instantly.
If you count on privacy and spending your evening on your own, you might be in wrong address.
Mzia is an amazing host, her house and garden are beautiful and we felt at home immediately.
Staying at Mzia's Garden is our greatest memory of Georgia and our most complete experience of the country. We stayed at Mzia's house for the last night of our trip. We spent 5 hours with Mzia around a table full of Georgian specialities, talking about the history of Georgia and Europe, life in the shadow of war, freedom determining the development of countries, the economy and what is most important in life.
An evening with Mzia is a Meeting. Mzia is an extremely insightful, wise, enlightening person, she is a teacher of life. If you are looking for more than just a collection of sights on your travels, if you want to immerse yourself in the heart of the country you are visiting, and if you want to taste the truest Georgian feast, then we recommend Mzia’s Garden
Thank you Mzia for making our stay unforgettable… loved your company by the fire pit, the fresh fruits from your garden and your amazing jams! Out stay at your house is another warm memory from our trip to Georgia 🇬🇪
Mzia is such a lovely person and also a fantastic cook. We were really treated like guests/friends. Rooms are extremely clean and there is everything you need.
Authentic Georgian experience.
The place really stands out of all accommodations we were. Do not think about Mzia's Garden as hotel, and do not expect 5 star hotel design. You are getting something much more. As such level of hospitality and atmosphere in Georgian style of food, talk, house, room design,,, is Amazing.
"Mzia has a magic place,
And she makes it all,
You feel yourself at home.
You honored guest NOT in hotel,
And that is the whole point!
In peaceful village house stands,
Traditionally dressed,
The garden big and full of fruits
At night all stars are seen
You have to come!
And feel yourself
THIS Georgian hospitality! "
Thank you Mzia!
To go away from this place !!!
Mzia is the most welcoming woman. Talkative, curious, kind, open hearted, engaging. Mi casa su casa sums up our stay. She let us sit at a table in the open space to be on our laptops and served us homemade juices and cold water and fresh fruit from her trees while we worked. It is peaceful and relaxing. Her breakfast is scrumptious and the dinner was too.
The sheets are rough so if you're sensitive to things like that, know ahead. We were at the tail end of our trip so we both felt the price (for a dinner and for a night) were high compared to others in different parts of the country. She lives 20 + minutes from the city of Gori and a 20 minute walk from the cave city (we did not have a car) but otherwise, there is nowhere to go in her neighborhood save for one restaurant that is within walking distance for dinner. If you don't have a car, you have to be up for an adventure. On our first day into Gori, she walked with us to the main road and helped us hithchike and it worked well but on our second, with our luggage, it took about 30 min to get a ride to Gori and then a taxi to Tbilisi.
This is a country house with a lovely host, Mzia. When I booked, I was looking for an authentic Georgian house, a host to chat with and a home-made dinner—and we definitely got that! Mzia is very nice. She greeted us at the gate, showed us around, talked to us and cooked a very delicious dinner. We spent our evening having a nice conversation with this lady about everything. It was very nice and authentic and exactly what we were looking for.
It's very close to the Uplistsikhe cave town. It was a convenient stop for us on our way from Tbilisi to Kutaisi.
The house is old, and the renovations have yet to be finished. It has its country charm, but there's still a lot to be done. The Wi-Fi doesn't work in one of the bedrooms. The rooms and the showers are pretty basic. I would say they are charging a lot more for what you get. It's twice as much as the average in the region for a basic room ($70 vs $45 that we paid in other local places).
We had the most unexpected and memorable experience at Mzia's Garden. Mzia was busy in the kitchen whilst we visited the nearby Uplistsikhe caves and then when we returned we ate the most amazing food and heard her wonderful stories at the table, a real privilege.
Nothing, it was amazing.
Mzia is is a very interesting and very kind host
We loved staying with Mzia. Her family have renovated their beautiful old stone house for decades. We had lots of interesting conversations and wonderful food for breakfast and dinner. Mzia was incredibly welcoming and got up early to give us breakfast at 5am!!!!! so we could bicycle 85km to Tbilisi before the wind came up and it got hot.
It was all great
Mzia is such an excellent host. It is clear that she takes great pleasure in hosting & cooking for guests, and this made our short stay very memorable. If you stay with Mzia, I recommend arranging to have a dinner with her. The amazing home cooked meal that Mzia prepared for us, with a variety of dishes from different regions, was the highlight of our stay!
An amazing experience, the food cooked by Mzia and the wine from her brother are exceptional. The most welcoming stay and can highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. True Georgian experience
